I’ve not been to UP yet, this was what my wife’s family refers to as “Up North”. We were just south of Gaylord.

Stayed at Heart Lake over the weekend and finally got to do some extended off-roading. Had an absolute blast! Definitely hooked and want to do more. At one point I was completely lost and really didn’t care. Here’s some pics:

yes I misunderstood her at first. it does spend the winters in the barn. so much fun to drive, I haven’t driven a TJ since college.

Finally made it out to the farm to visit.

Back up cam randomly started working again yesterday. Good thing too, don’t have time to take the Jeep to the dealership for dumb shit like this.

Every time I try to hold volume and tune at the same time the radio turns off immediately. Am I missing something? TIA

Red line is like 6500. if you are accelerating, push 1st gear to at least 20mph, 2nd to 35ish. you can take it slow if you want, but don’t be afraid to rev it if you want to accelerate.

Oh, also a bit of advise I wish I had gotten when I was new to the wrangler: rev the heck out of this engine. It’s how it’s designed to be driven.

4th for heavy traffic. 5th for 70 +. if you have the opportunity to drive 80, 6th is your friend.

Take the doors off to enhance the therapeutic effect. I’m so glad I had the Jeep last summer after long days in the office wearing a mask all day.

Not calling for rain til Wednesday now! Jeep stays naked a few more days!

Lost the cover for the rear pillar last night on the freeway. make sure the covers are all snug when you take the doors off. replacement is $50 with shipping.

It’s gonna hit 80 in Cleveland through Sunday with no rain. Took the doors off as soon as I got home.

Had sun rider mode engaged today and I have the forehead sunburn to prove it.

Pretty sure I saw a Gecko JL at a Costco in Michigan last weekend. So apparently they are out there.

Took a drive in Stagecoach mode for the first time today. Can’t wait to put the soft top back on.

I removed the “Wrangler Unlimited” sticker on the side with a hair dryer in a couple minutes. I would imagine the Willys sticker is similar?

I actually get more waves from teenagers than the soccer moms.
