Should I buy a 2022 I ordered in Dec, or get a 2023?
2023 Pros: I can get 4.88 for easy tire swap. 1 year younger.
2022: it’s actually here now, 0 waiting.
caveat: I already have 2019, so don’t care about waiting.

If all you want different is the gear ratio, I'd check into a regear cost vs 2023 model year being more expensive. I ordered a 23 in early June and the dealer said ill be lucky to have it by the end of the year. Could be a long wait....

Have you compared how much more the 2023 will cost?

Look at the price on your POC and not the window sticker. The window sticker will include the price hikes that you won't be paying.

It’s not terribly more for the price hike. Maybe 2k for msrp?

JLUR 6sp ordered 11/3/21, picked up 8/30/22
You may wait just as long for the '23 as you waited for the '22.

But yeah, factory 4.88s are a LOT cheaper than having a shop do a gear swap.

Ok, the votes were close, ultimately I chose the 4.88 and joining the 2023 crew. I am in no hurry and can wait.
Of course the 2024 will come out with the Uconnect 5 and whatever else and ruin my day.

I thought about that too, but then I was real with myself. Is it really going to be the end of the world to live with UConnect 4? Nahhhh. I had a 2021 Yukon Denali I just sold with all of the awesome tech. You know what I used the most and will miss? Superior bluetooth conversations. And HUD. But I know with the Jeep those are both out of the question. All of the fancy stuff...we barely use all of it. I know the biggest thing for most folks is wireless Apple/Android. I think I saw a post on crowdfund that makes that possible in our current setup for nominal cost.

This is all coming from a guy who always wants the latest/greatest.

Uconnect 5? Yeah, you wouldn't want to be the first after an upgrade (which they only do when they finally get the outgoing one almost working right).

In reference to the wireless Carplay, just get this. No crowdfunding needed. For a whopping $120ish you will have a wireless setup. I have it in my Challenger Redeye Uconnect 4 and it works flawlessly. When our 23 Rubicon comes in we will be putting one in that as well.

I bought a 2022 Sahara in Red and took delivery in April, and now I see the Reign Purple and I want to sell my Sahara and buy a 2023 in Purple. But they do not make a 2023 Sahara with a manual transmission. So out of curiosity I configured a 2023 Rubicon with Reign. I then priced a 2022 Rubicon in Gobi (they are both $495 instead of $395). I configured both with the same options and the 2023 Rubicon was only $350 more than the 2022 Rubicon. $350 increase is not bad. I priced it with the standard 3.6 and a manual transmission so that is a savings. But given that my 2022 Sahara was bought at 2.25 % interest, and not knowing what the interest rate will be 4 or 5 months from now, I guess I will just keep my 2022. I am sure that Reign is probably like Snazzberry and will be a limited time only color.
