1st, how to check build date by vin? As in 100*** v/s 244***?

There are differences, between ours we are finding.

Our vehicles are close to the same mileage, drive train.

For instance, is this folding gap cover an option?

The build date, month/year, is listed on the sticker inside the driver's door jamb. The last 6 digits of the VIN are said to be sequential, and do not provide further information to the eyes other than relative build sequence to another of the same model built in the same model year.

they probably started making 21 models in july or august of 2020. No look at your MDH and if it is 122423 you might have an issue

Model year production begins in the late summer if I recall. So yours is actually a model year 2022, already a few months into 2022 production. Obviously, that doesn't mean there aren't mid-year changes but I'm not sure being built in 2021 as a MY2022 is indicative of anything specific.

No, its the weird differences, mine has the gap cover as shown above.

Hers doesn't as we went to pickup thr dogs up from groomer we noticed and bought a blanket.

Hers has no brackets, scuffed paint or anything.

Or did they just forget to install it at factory?

The grills are different, Hers is more clear airflow, less turbulence and it shows (but she is on 33 and 4:10)

I was thinking the same thing. Having an unfinished back definitely makes it challenging to "put mine in hers"!

FWIW, my 2021 Sahara Altitude with leather came with that flap. Not sure if it's a Sahara feature or a leather feature, but hopefully that's helpful.

For 2018, having the gap cover was based on trim/options and if you got the gap cover you didn't get full carpet coverage under the back seat.

My 2018 JLUR has flap and full carpet.

Did it come that way new? My 2018 has both now after I bought the Mopar rear cargo mats that included the gap cover.
