3 main rails, cut drilled and mounted, both panels are pre-drilled.

Lots of clearance holes to drill and nut zerts to be installed.

Then deburr and paint after mounting freezer...

Well, the back bumper ended up in the corner, what a PC of shit!

Well, apparently us east of the Mississippi folks wheel harder in our backyards than the west coast Rubicon junkies

So, I bent/tore/ripped the pos shit into a parrellagram s/p? At a 30* angle backwards.

So, need to put a bumper on now.


J/k and poking fun fun, but really jeep? 25 pcs of plastic for a rear bumper on a vehicle capable of traversing the most famous trail....

In process of mocking up my aux battery so I can make a mount and box for it.

Box will be 1-1/2 deeper than battery so I can fold some absorbent mat to cover the top of the battery with it, to soak up any leakage incase of a roll over etc. I'll vent to atmosphere, thru the cover.

Got up and put a hitch/bumper on.

1st hitch with backing plate, then mounted up thr bumper. I pushed everything up so bolts stopped and pulled back so interia won't have help shearing off bolts.
It's tucked up nice and tight.

Went up to old drive way...need to mow.

I will probably trim both front lips, a little close to rear quarters.

Tucks up better than stock.

Now I can move the tire and make a mount to tuck it in and down with a skid

Taking a beer break to do some dishes, I knocked the slag off 1 side of rack. Will sand and the bend and weld, hopefully today.

Well today is or was last night, lol.

Started the bending process.

More to bend and straighten out. It got to late last night to be banging on sheet metal lol

Continued work on rack today, lots of small details

Made 2 mounts for the top rail/cap/top bolt down .
Used some A36 1/4 x 2.0 I had, clamped the metal to the top cap rail area to mimic it being mounted and traced the holes with a sharpie

drilled out to size

I then grabbed a beer and started on bracing and mounts

Now remember these are cut out of very damp cardboard, they will mor square and several other items need to be mounted.

Got home, changed and made some brackets.

Already making revisions

Planning an oil tray, for PS fluid, brake fluid, oil etc.. when out exploring

Made a spacer/mount for driver side.

Now to work on passenger side.

I will need to cut it so it can be removed.
