I see you also have a Mojave..... I have the same 2021 MOjave on 37s and 5.13 gears and pedal commander.
With that being said I just picked up a 23 rubicon with XR package and the 2.0 turbo. Having daily driven my the gladiator for the past two years. I can honeslty say the 2.0 with the 35s and 4:56 gears is really smooth to drive and has a better linear power than the 3.6. When people talk about turbo lag, I get it if you think its a sports car but thats not what these are for. I have a total separate car for that. But I am very happy with the Wrangler 2.0. . Only thing id for sure change is the shocks

Personally, I think I'd drive the '22 4xe for a few more years and wait to see if the 3.0L turbo inline 6 makes it to the Wrangler. The standard output version should be a nice improvement in power over both engines without getting the crappy fuel economy of the 392.

Might never happen, but it's certainly a possibility imo.

The correct answer is 392 lol
Yeah, if the guy doesn't want to swing for the fence why would he get hammered financially to make a lateral move?

And LOL to the V6 guys dissing the 392 gas mileage. Its like you can either drive a Jeep that is exciting and fun that gets crappy mileage, or something way more boring that gets slightly less crappy mileage:CWL:

I get that there is a price premium for the 392 (and well deserved for those who can pony up), but we are all driving 4,500+ lb bricks that get poor (being charitable) mileage. The only real exception was the diesel, that very few bought.

Thanks for all your reply’s.
Looks like it’s down to a 2.0 or 392. Probably leaning to a 392. The 3.0 turbo sounds really interesting but probably years away if at all.
We’ve owned nothing but Jeeps for over 30 years and would find it hard to drive anything else.
Love my Mojave. For a pickup I don’t think you could get a better all around vehicle.

I had a loaner JLU 2.0 and couldn't wait to get my 3.6 back!!! Beside, MPG not seeming any better, that's all I'm saying!

My Grandson has a 2.0 in a two door...hmmm a bit better maybe?

Go Jeep!!!

Love my 2.0 and swore not to buy a jeep with it. Then I drove one. Lol

Have also driven the 392. If you want big power to impress go 392.

But if you want a drive train that is plenty sporty without overboard, it’s the 2.0.

just me, but I have a tuned raptor that will run 0-60 in under 4.5. Never use all that power. As much as I think the 392 is great, I just don’t need it and I like the quiet of the 2.0

Lol all you want, but I wasn't "dissing" the 392 fuel economy. It is what it is and the OP initially said he wasn't considering that trim for that very reason (and I didn't suggest the v6 with its mediocre gas mileage either, I suggested the new i6 S.O. with 400HP and 450TQ).

Other than waiting it out for an engine that may never come to the Wrangler, I'd strongly consider a 392 or diesel myself if they actually made either in a 2-door and it wasn't a nearly $30k fucking premium over a '24 Rubicon X (apples to apples, or to oranges at $40k over a standard '24 Rubicon).

So yeah, other than dropping $90k on a Chrysler with a Mexican v8, the 5 MPG fuel economy hit would be totally worth it imo ?

I’m trying to decide which engine to choose when ordering a 24 Ribicon X. I do very little off-roading and love going fast. I’m hooked on jeeps so buying a “muscle car” isn’t what I want. I have a 22 4Xe but the benefit of 22 miles on the battery doesn’t fit our long distance driving habits and the scarcity of charging stations when traveling usually leaves us using the ICE most of the time anyway. Crappy mileage on the 392 and big price tag is a turnoff for that model. Any suggestions?
I’ve had all three over the years. What I can say is that The 2.0 certainly makes the JL feel/seem more quick and nimble. I really just hated the sound of it. It was very “grainy”. The 3.6 had more grunt but felt sluggish at times. If it were me to do it all over again, I would get the 3.6. You figure… it’s a Wrangler… no need to get anywhere super quick. I just want a lil more beefiness under the hood over the quickness. Just my opinion.

It's not just you, the 3.6 guys are constantly rattling that cage....but if that cage opens, you're screwed:rock:

The 392 is such a glorious engine for the Wrangler....that door won't be open for much longer, but hot frickin' damn what a ride.

Same as I tell guys I consider true car guys to own a 12 cylinder car once in their life, just see what that 392 engine does to transform the Wrangler for yourself.

Go try a 392 for yourself, and if it moves you, go buy one. You never know what may be available in the future....could very well be that the 2.0 might be the only ICE engine, or there will only by hybrids.
