I have the xr stock 2” lift with 37s and gutted fenders with after market liners. I am not a serious rock crawler but have no regrets at all. I do have to be careful pulling into a standard garage door with my hardtop and rack installed. I should add 4.55 with the 2.0t.
I went from 35s to 37s on my XR. 4.56 with the 2.0t. The drive quality for a DD did not change. Slightly lower MPGs. Bigger step up and in. I would do 37s again.
Perhaps a bad coil from the factory. I had an early coil failure on my Ford raptor (although at 20k). Replaced coil and never had another issue with it. Traded it at 78k. Hopefully it’s a simple coil replacement.
