Someone mentioned wishing the hole to access the drain plug was larger on the Asfir because the stream of oil coming out initially wants to go above the skid making a mess. How much larger should the hole be you think? I can break out my carbide burrs and do just that.
I don’t have an engine skid yet, but I do have a Fumoto valve (106S and hose kit) and would never do an oil change with a regular drain plug again...
With an engine skid it’s a no-brainer.
Valvomax or whatever other brands are out there have plenty of fans as well, so there are good options.

Just ordered the engine and gear skid plate. Anyone who's run the Asfir through last winter.....does the aluminum plating corrode like an aluminum engine block does? I'm wondering if I should spray paint it before installing.

Don’t spray paint - I used this stuff on my Artec aluminum skids last summer before installing them. I painted on two very thin coats an hour apart. They still look brand new after winter of salty roads. I also used on the faded aluminum cladding on the windows of my 15 year old home. Made them look almost new. Everbrite is expensive but worth it....

Asfir is sold out of the skid that fits the 2.0. So I have to wait several weeks (months?) until they're back in stock. What irks me is they took the payment without indicating online that the item is out of stock. Customer rep gave me the news.

Anyone else noticing the brace hitting just above their oil filter? Getting ready for trails in a couple weeks and have not been able to locate a tapping when hitting pot holes. I think this is it.

Can you zoom out on it? That does not look good. Looks like it Hit/s rubs a lot and is chipping away the metal. What brand skid?

It's Asfir.

Sorry for late update. My RC diff skid bracket was kicking up the Asfir bracket tapping behind oil filter. Why RC made the bracket vertical instead of flat who knows. Tried grinding down bracket taking out about half inch and finally just removed that skid. Going different route with a diff cover.

My @ASFIR4X4 shipped out 5 weeks after ordering and being told it was sold out. 5 days to Ottawa, Canada and that includes a one day hold in Cincinnati. Remarkable. Courier was DHL.
Fits my 2 door 2.0L turbo with eTorque like a glove. I added a red accent.
I'm running a bigger oil filter, about 1" longer than the OEM. There's plenty of room for drain plug access.

19 Rubicon JLU 2.0t w/ eTorque & Moto Guzzi Griso
So, I've been doing a bunch of research on skid plates for the JLU 2.0T with eTorque. I'm looking for an aluminum system that also protects the battery, etc.

- Rock Hard 4x4 - 200 lbs - $2500 (with muffler skid) - has 2 steel cross members. Not long-arm compatible.
- Next Venture Motor Sports - 85 lbs - $2100 - must remove gas skid. Can add plastic sliders for $500. Doesn't seem to be much in reviews or install videos?
- MORE - weight??? - $1347 - not a system, no eTorque or muffler skids
- Asfir - 103 lbs - $1127 (including muffler) - doesn't work as a system, requires removal of frame brace, which I don't like.
- Rustys - weight ? - $1120 - It's raw steel. I'm looking for aluminum.
- Artec - 91 lbs - $2000 - looks like a great system, but requires 1.5 inch lift. I'm not planning on lifting.
- Metal Cloak - 149 lbs - $1749 - Steel w/ zinc coating
- Motobil - no system for the 2.0
- Rough Country - no system for the 2.0

Who am I missing?

I'm leaning towards the Rock Hard system as it looks fully integrated. Only downsides are (obviously) price and weight. Any thoughts, pros / cons?

Any advice on where to purchase who might be running a 4th of july sale?

I swear somebody opted to work the center frame brace back in on the ASFIR.
