Just checked mine, 2020 2.0 19k miles both full. I even have an appointment next week at the dealership to have the lower hose replaced. I think the clamp isn’t on properly and it has a tiny bit of coolant build up on it. Might as well since it’s under warranty. Plus I have a big road trip next week.

For a mileage perspective,

My Jeep has 53k miles on it. I just checked mine and it needed 24 to 28oz of antifreeze (1.5-1.75 of a used 16 oz water bottle) to reach the middle of full when the engine was cold.

Edit 10/4/22- I checked the forward clear reservoir and it needed to almost be filled up. The clear one behind that was good to go.

I don't know if this was mentioned, but if you step up on the bumper and take the cap off, shine a flashlight down in the container and look through the top, there is a yellow tab that shows the max and min marks. Plus you can see exactly where the coolant level is when compared to that. At the end of the day, the coolant dipstick is not the best user friendly experience out there.

When I first bought the JL there was a coolant leak at a clamp on the coolant hose going to the transmission. I assumed the dealer would refill it after fixing the clamp. They did a pressure test to make sure everything was good to go. I never checked the fluid level until yesterday when I found this thread and it needed 1 cup to reach the full line.

After 4,800 miles I checked mine yesterday it took 1 cup to reach the full line.
I did have a coolant leak when I first bought the JL, the clamp was open on the coolant host going to the transmission. I would have though the dealer would refill it after fixing the clamp. They did a pressure test to make sure everything was good to go. I never check the fluid level until yesterday when I found this thread.
The problem with coolant systems like on the 2.0T is that they just have an expansion tank. Not like many Japanese and American cars where they have n overflow bottle that will purge/suck out what coolant it needs. So in the workplace when you have to refill, time is of the essence. You fill and get it as good as you can but in reality, you should let it sit overnight when it's stone cold and check the level. Since people are hammering you for time, you get it close enough. If you get the vehicle done at 4pm and the owner shows up at 4:30, you are stuck.

Even when my Jeep puked out the coolant, I fixed it and filled the system. Drove it for a day and the next morning I checked, put in a cup of coolant. Expansion tanks are just that, very tolerant of fluid level, thus a bit low, the rest of the system outside that tank, never knows.

The res on the firewall is engine coolant. The smaller res near the front is intercooler.
Both use the same coolant.
There is a fluid level indicator inside the large res so you don’t have to check with a dipstick.
The intercooler res has level indicator on the res.
A subscription to AllDataDIY.com isn't for everybody (price being the main issue), but for those who may be curious as to what's over there, I thought I'd provide a sample of how it identifies these two coolant tanks for my 2021 JLUR without eTorque.

Colored ORANGE for illustration, here's the shape of the tank that you're looking for near the firewall:
Jeep Wrangler JL 2.0 coolant top off frequency 1651590662724

Again, colored ORANGE for illustration, here's the shape of the transparent tank that you're looking for near the front:
Jeep Wrangler JL 2.0 coolant top off frequency 1651590774669

It does a really good job of capturing the exact shape (and relative position) for the items in question. But the size of an item won't always be to scale from picture-to-picture so you have to watch out for that. And in this case, because it uses ORANGE to identify the items in question, you don't get to see which one is solid and which is transparent.

Despite that, the images provided by AllDataDIY seem more than enough to find what you're looking for.

(This added commentary and critique of AllData is what allows me to share these two images in this discussion under the Fair Use Doctrine.)

I don't know if this is related, but this post caught my eye since my 2021 recently overheated. Two weeks ago I drove down to DC from Boston in my 2021 JLU w/2.0T (9,200 miles). While idling at the Arlington Nat'l Cemetery parking lot, the Jeep started overheating with loud fan noises and dashboard warnings. As I drove a little, the temp went down and I was able to make it to a nearby garage, but every time we stopped the temp shot up again with a loud fan noise.

I called and had it towed to Ourisman in Alexandria. They had it fixed within a day under warranty, with their report saying the overheating was caused by loose bolts. From my receipt: "Installed 4318031AC : Adhesive: Lock and Seal. Verified customer concern - found coolant leak at water pump inlet tube- retourque bolts at water pump inlet and refill with coolant and recheck OK."

I didn't have any issues on the drive back to Boston, nor have I had any since (knock on wood). I feel like I'm seeing more and more posts about loose bolts and coolant leaks, so just wanted to share my experience. Also, was very happy with the service I got from Ourisman in Alexandria. I'm not familiar with the area, and they were great with communicating and helping me out over the phone (Lynn was my contact.)

In a nutshell, they took out one bolt at a time, put on blue loctite and reainstalled. The mechanic cranked down on them. I cranked down on them and have rechecked but I did not do loctite. I'm just curious as to if they come loose again without loctite. So far they are OK. I only bring this up as I'm trying to see if this is just that the factory had a run of bad tools when it came to torque and thus, they came lose because of that or is it a vibration problem.

Just flipped 40K on my 2020. Added 15 ounces. Glad I read this thread. Never had to add coolant to any vehicle Ive ever owned. Im 50, and have had many.

Interesting. I smelled coolant outside the 2.0T JLUR I test drove yesterday. It ran great and I subsequently ordered my JLUR with the 2.0T.

There’s definitely something fishy going on. Thanks for bringing this up.

My new 2022 Rubicon JUL 2.0L Turbo engine just blew at only 2,000 miles.. Started with low coolant issues, etc, Also noticed odor. Make dealer check it out good!! Having to replace engine under warranty.

I'll keep you posted. Evidently this is gonna be something losing coolant before engine failure. Dealership has not given me an answer yet but warranty is covering it.

Took the wife's JLU in for the steering box replace and mentioned to the service advisor about having to top off the coolant every couple of weeks. Evidently there's a TSB for bolts that were insufficiently tightened at the factory. See the 2nd part of the pic below. You have to mention it to the service advisor and they'll get it fixed, for free if you're still under warranty.

Thank you for this! Now I'll have to go out and check my levels after it cools down from the drive to work.
