Should I have bought the dealers extra warranty? I was his best friend until I told him I was fine with the 3 year 36,000 and didn't want anything else.

No. Why not wait until you know you’ll keep your JL until that point? We can purchase the MaxCare warranty later. Screw him...get a dog ..they’re very loyal ;)

Question: When you order as many of us here have, does the window sticker have our name in the "Sold To:" part or is it still sold to the delivering dealer? Never ordered before so don't know if it is personalized or not. Thanks in advance!

My jk had my name on the sticker. I put my name in the computer when ordering so it should be there for the jl. Pretty sure, but mine still isn’t here yet.

Yes....unfortunately the key is a flat head screw driver.

However, It looks like the locking screw might be able replaceable with a lock cylinder. What do you think?

I just confirmed that the Thule lock cylinders unfortunately do not work in the Mopar roof rack. It's close, but the orientation of Thule cylinders is not quite right. It does look like it's designed so that you can drop a lock cylinder in...just gotta find one that works. Time to return the Thule locks and test the Yakima ones.

I test drove a sport unlimited 6 speed today. Overall I had a few impressions: the clutch is very light, I was surprised. I am currently in a 2017 WRX and the clutch is much lighter than my Subaru. The other thing I noticed is that there was some definite vibration in the clutch, something that is not present on my WRX. Overall though I did like the manual and the overall smoother ride of the JL. It was extremely windy out tonight and the JL was tossing around some but Im sure that should be expected with the kind of vehicle it is. I was wondering would you all be concerned about the vibration in the clutch?

+1 on this question

I remember reading on another site that the JKU's larger section of the hard top came in at about 120 lbs.

Being 20% lighter, I'll guess the JL's at around 100 pounds.

Remember, I'm talking 4 door Wranglers here, not 2.

Anybody have the MOPAR tubular side steps for their JLU? Curious of what the 4 door steps look like in the real world.

Here are some pics of the inside of the grill and the mesh inserts. Took about 10 minutes to pop off the grill and remove one of the mesh panels. For the panels, you just need to remove some T15 screws and pop out some plastic clips. I am planning on painting the inserts a lighter grey or silver so they have a little more pop against the granite crystal grill.
What does your grill look like currently? Do you have granite grille with the dark gray Rubi inserts? Depending how that looks, I would consider trading for the silver inserts that came on my Sahara.

Same but different topic, I never received the bag for the Freedom Panels. It was listed on my window sticker, so I asked the dealer about. While they were great and got me a bag right away, they had to order one, and it was an $80 bag! I assume it should have come in the Jeep? I also didn’t get the parts to mount the front license plate. We are required in Ohio to have a front plate, and I walked by another JL that had the mounting hardware installed, so I know it exists.

Some stuff to check when you pick up your new JL.
You should have absolutely received the soft carrying case for your Freedom panels! I hope they didn't make you pay the $80.

We're required to have a front plate in MN too. Two 3/8ths screws attached a front plate bracket to my bumper. I thought I heard previously that dealers have to provide the plate brackets where it's illegal in the state (but I've previously used this excuse to the cops when I ran no front plate for a while  )

100% agree with the clutch being light, and engagement was pretty shallow. I came from a 2008 S4 but I knew there could be no close comparison. I did not experience vibration whatsoever in the Sport S that I drove. I was extremely impressed with gear engagement (almost snapped into each gear), the very minimal play side to side while in gear, and the short throws. Downshifted very well and rev matching was effortless. All that being said, I went with an automatic and decided to reserve 6 speeds for my low and fast cars. These 8 speeds autos are fantastic.

No, I did not have to pay the $80! I was just surprised that it was forgotten, missing, etc. I'll reach back out regarding the front plate hardware.

Do tail light guards actually serve a purpose, or is it just bling?
