ranglers but I'll be doing a lot of road driving and I'm basically pricing a sahara right up to a Rubicon so I'm looking at the little things now. Basically, will there be a difference in MPG for a Sahara (LSD, selectrac, all terrain tires) vs Rubicon?
I suspect the Sahara MPG will be slightly better mostly because of the tires.

I hated it in my JK when the range miles got below a certain amount it just said low or refuel or some nonsense. Do we know if the JL continues to countdown?
Hope so a lot of older cars have had that feature for years.

Also axle ratio of 3.45 on the Sahara vs 4.10 on the Rubi.

Do the sides of the freedom top now come off giving the “safari” top look?
The power soft top, for all its pros and cons, DOES feature side windows that detach separately and can be stored, while off, in the tailgate, on top of one another, ideally with cushion material around both

From what I hear, power top removal is non trivial (like JK windshield) and new easy to remove JL windshield’s ability to go up and down is made more complex by power top.

So “pick your poison.”

I have a 2015 Cherokee with the EVIC and it stops counting down around 20-30 mile range and just says LOW. Hopefully they updated it to keep counting down after that.

I’m getting a two door so the power top isn’t an option. I really like the idea of having the sun coverage but the rest open like they showed in many of the promo shots. Just need the hard top most of the time for security. Dual tops isn’t even an option yet. Hmmm

Maybe you should order the power top and wait for the aftermarket to come out with a 2 door JL compatible bikini top like here:

https://www.extremeterrain.com/bestop-header-bikini-top-jk-5258135.html

This is bound to be less expensive than a dual top option, which, having just checked the Jeep builder app, I can concur, doesn't present dual top options on any trim's 2 door--plus it blends better into your desire for sun coverage but the rest open.

Yep, I agree that’s the best option. Thx

Does anybody know when the 2.0L will be available for order? The only eta I could find was production will begin January 8 but that was back in October. Couldn’t find any updates since.

May I please have people's opinion on the use of a mechanism like that seen in this YouTube video for the removal and placement of a 4 door hardtop on a Wrangler--presumptively a JLU to be purchased?
Note this was a 2 door in the video.

My one car garage is small to handle rigging this off the ceiling, and my helpers consist of 2 lovely ladies (wife and daughter) each at around 5'0" (i.e. less than idea roof removal partners.) My neighborhood friends are more the country club than do it yourself set.

And sure, there are some aftermarket products that do this well, even if they cost a king's randsom.

I'm figuring that I can buy such a lift from a nearby Harbor Freight, having confirmed that it's angles and heights work, and design myself my own "T" bar, just as this Youtuber did, out of rectangular tubed hole punched rod.

Thoughts? Better ideas?

Thanks
I'm 6'2" and 250. I can pick up the hardtop by myself and place it on a dolly I made. I store it vertically as I don't drive into my garage nor is the ceiling high enough for a hoist and all.

My buddy has the hand crank one Lange sells. He likes it. Even if you only use it to get it on/off.

The TJ top in the video is a little harder to get on/off for some reason. My YJ top is hard for me to pickup by myself. I put it onto a folding table and drive up to it. From there I move it over to the Jeep. I can have it on both the tub and the table at the same time - then shimmy it into place.

For the 4 door top - you can sit in the cargo area and grab the center of the top at the rear window (with the window open) and with the other hand grab the cross bump. From there I just stand up and then put the end onto the dolly and the other onto a blanket. I then invert it on the dolly then roll it into the garage.

The center of gravity of the top is about 12" in from the rear glass. Maybe closer to the rear. It's awkward to pickup at first, but you get it.

There are plans for this dolly online. This isn't my dolly. I made it for under $20. I actually used for heavy duty swivel wheels at each corner that you can lock. Makes rolling it into storage spots pretty easy.

I've seen people make tables to slide the top onto. Use ratchet straps from the ceiling, etc. to suspend it.

Engine hoists are 100 at HF for the 2 ton. Biggest issue with engine hoists is that they are a pain to store and keep. Anyone will tell you this. Mine actually sits outside. They're heavy and a pain to move around. Some do fold up a little bit.
