was an ‘18 Rubicon Mojito! now a boring Mazda
i ordered mine with body color flares because I think it looks nicer from the front hood view. Side views I think look better with black. I have black tops.
Just curious what others have?
Do You think painted is too much green?
i Have gone back and forth

I dont know if there still doing it because of rock chips, but i have seen the painted flares with a hokey looking piece of what looks like matched colored tape on them where rocks were being strewn onto them n chipping them. (Someone correct me if that changed). I saw some like that on lots and didnt like it personally. But that's just me n my opinion.

Your mileage n opinion may vary, and its the only one that counts tho.

Painted fenders black top.

Painted top is WAY to much green. Painted fenders is perfect. Plus they won’t turn that horrible gray the black ones will.
Agreed!! I got black top with painted fenders in mojito. The jk’s Black fenders was hard to keep black no matter what u used! The new JL’s could be better but I wasn’t taking that chance.

I went with black flares as I have a habit of hitting rocks with them. Good thing too- I tagged a rock with my RR flare a couple weeks back on Black Bear Pass. :)

I have a Mojito with black fenders and the Painted top; At first I thought the painted top was too much , but it started growing on me; Them we picked up a black premium soft top and installed it and I'm kinda missing the look of painted top. I love being able to take down the top so easily, but I look forward to late fall to put the green machine back together for the unique look. I like that i can switch it up

Ever since the JK came out, I've never been a fan of the big plastic front fenders. To me, they've always looked "cheap." On the JK, from a design standpoint, they're look like an afterthought. On the JL, the combination of painted fenders and integrated turn signals hide that cheapness. Painted also make the JL look like the old style flatfenders, which is cool!

I'm paint matched all around. I can get you better pictures if you want, just haven't had a chance to take them.

IM wit this! There's no such thing as "too much green" for me...so I'd vote for all green...painted top and all.

However, my favorite color combo is black and green (this exists before I even got the Jeep)...so im with the black and green too. Just depends on what you'll be happy with.

IMO, if you plan to do a lot of off-roading, then I'd go with black fenders. If it will be a street machine, then color matched makes sense. Rock chips would make painted fenders look bad in short order, even with touch-up paint. Maybe the newer "self healing" films might work, IDK...

I personally hated the painted fenders on the JK but completely love them on the JL. I really like how the bottom half is still plastic and the top is painted giving it the 2 tone look that was missing in the JL. I vote painted fenders with black hardtop. Although note, my non-painted rear fenders each have at least 50 rock chips on each side.

I went back and forth but selected painted flares with Black top. Main reason was it is easier to take the lower black part of the flares off with painted ones. For when bigger tires are installed later

Anyone know if OEM painted fenders can be ordered from mopar at all right now? I have the standard black plastic but think I may want them painted instead.
