I live on 5 acres, I have no neighbors, and nothing has changed at my home. This is still not working anywhere I drive and park the jeep.
Following this thread - same happened to me within past 2 weeks. Was out of town for 2 weeks - after returning the proximity sensors weren't working.

I asked my son if he changed any settings - said no. Passive entry in dash checks out. Im in MN - haven't messed with the doors since summer and no recent service.

Could a UConnect or other OTA update affect this? I have a Tazer but not sure where the setting lives to verify.

Can any Tazer experts point me to the proximity setting to double check there? Thanks.

Do they send Uconnect software updates? I don't pay for the sirus/connect subscription, and I'm unaware that they send software updates wirelessly, unlike my ford work vehicle, that is constantly connected for software updates.

I have a Ford too and that was why I was thinking OTA - I don't pay for connected extras on UConnect.

The batteries were both replaced last summer when I got a warning on 1 of them. They were 4 years old so I assume theyre still good.

I just grabbed the other key and have same issue. Just realized they both open passenger door but not driver door.

Ran codes in Tazer - found RFH B259A-13. Looks like proximity sensor issue.

Anyone have experience or suggestions on this?

I found the Tazer setting - Proximity is turned on.

Just pulled the door harness - all pins are intact. I compared against the chart shown and seem to have all the necessary pins.

Am I missing anything? Is there another area to check in the wiring? Could there be a bad sensor in the driver door handle? Thanks in advance!

A bad sensor seems probable given the passenger door works and the driver door doesn't.
Neither door works, tailgate, nor push start. I would assume it's just one sensor. When I open one door, they all unlock.

The door sensor post was about @KIZEMAN's Jeep.

@Tommy379, yours doesn't appear to be a bad door sensor, since none of your doors function for Passive Entry. Do you have a way to check for codes?

@Tommy379- apologies for jumping into your thread - will bow out now.

Sorry to add confusion.

Hello,

I have a 2018 Rubicon 2dr, manual. Within the past week, my jeep fails to detect both key fobs. Both will start the the vehicle by pushing the starter button with fob. Both will lock/unlock vehicle by using the buttons on the fobs. The vehicle fails to detect either fob to start, or to unlock when I walk up to the vehicle and pull the handle.

The batteries in both fobs have been replaced with new energizer then Duracell batteries this week, at a cost of $6 per battery. Both the start and auxiliary batteries are new in the jeep, and were disconnected for an hour, then reconnected, in an attempt to reset the jeep electronics. And the auxiliary ground was disconnected. No change.

I am asking for any knowledge to resolve this.

Thank you.
To rule out a battery or fob antenna issue in the remote, I read to place the fob near the door handle sensor to see if it will pick up the signal. It said the proximity sensor for locks and start requires a stronger fob signal than the remote lock/unlock.

Maybe give this a shot?

Scan tool will give you the answer here. Typically if the RKE function and the push button isn't working you either have defective keys or a bad antenna. There WILL be a code, and if there isn't you have bad keys. I have seen two go bad at the same time before, it isn't unheard of.

Yes, that's all turned on. Still doesn't detect either fob.
Have you reset the radio Head unit? I was having odd issues and a friend suggested to do it. Wahoo, it fixed everything. I had to set it up again but it was worth it. Just a thought. I am thinking there is just a synch bit that is off....

Following this one. My friend's 2019 JLUR has similar issue. Driver side proximity sensor does not work. Looking for solutions. Passenger side unlocks when handle is touched.
