Proximity Entry not working

I sometimes have the tailgate handle not work. I then have to go to the drivers side door to unlock the Jeep. But it happens very intermittently. Like 1 out of every 40 times I try unlocking the tailgate handle.

Did you find out the issue with the proximity sensor ?

I have a similar issue with proximity locks that I added. they are not working to lock or unlock but the light on the key fob does flash when I push the lock button and again when I grab the handle so it seems the handle is connected but the lock/unlock is not working, Curious if those that have seen the issue had a solution other than the dealer?

Hopefully Covid didn't get the OP! I'll watch this just because my wife's Renegade also has 'demon doors' and we ordered them on our JL. They earn the moniker 'demon doors' because if you manually lock the door as you get out the panic alarm goes off when you shut the door. Has scared the hell out of my wife and daughter on more than one occasion . Hopefully the Wrangler doesn't do that but I'm guessing it does.

Giving this one a bump to see if there was ever any resolution as I am still stymied by mine not working and as far as I can tell everything is installed and programmed correctly

Still fighting with this - checking to see if the OP ever got this resolved and what solution worked

Just had this problem. Disconnected AirPod from
Bluetooth, tried proximity lock again, worked fine. Might be random, but maybe not. ?

Correction - turned Bluetooth off entirely at phone, then locks worked fine.

Cellphone signal blocks the key fob transmissions. If your key fob is in the same pocket as your cellphone or in close proximity, then this feature will not work.

I do not find this to be the case. I carry fob and smartphone in same pocket and it has never in 3+ years, impacted proximity in regard to my JL.

That's with a few different smart phones over the last 3 yrs., also....

I just tested this with another Jeep and had the phone and fob in the same pocket and it seemed to work fine. What I find on my Jeep, retrofit for the tailgate is even with no phone the fob flashes when I push the button or grab the handle but nothing happens with the locks
