I might have been mistaken I think you can order LEDs on the sport but no leather that's the bummer

JK introduced (carried over into the new JL) the design element where the entire horizontal section of the front fender is basically a plastic flare. This has advantages and disadvantages, depending on the owners needs and aesthetic preferences. I prefer the more traditional integrated metal fenders, having what we would more commonly think of as a secondary flare, but then I still have a red CJ-7 like the one shown in the photo. Well except for the rust on mine, lol. So I am kind of bias for the CJ, I think they got a lot of style points right on that model it is a classic.

Yes, but two methods.

If they have them handy as take-offs from other vehicles, then you haggle those add-ons separately.

If they have to order from Mopar, then you can try and get them to give them ot you at cost as part of the condition of sale. I get my hood lock, fuel filler lock, Rear-cam unlock, and a few other tweaks at cost or free (if service based)as a condition of sale to put the pressure on, especially since I can’t haggle the price much with fleet pricing as my basis. One advantage with that, is that they can throw all those Mopar aadd-ons as part of your agreement for financing, etc. instead of payig for them separately up-front.
These are very good points, I'm more torn now about ordering the Rubicon vs the Sport S. Up until I saw the option lists I had flopped in favour of the Rubi and now I'm not so sure. But I really am not a fan of the stock Rubi wheels so being able to swap out for what I want at the time I place my order would be a lot better since I would likely swap the wheels and tires out upon delivery.

It is too bad there isn't an upgraded wheel and tire package like the 20187's had where you could order a Sport with the larger tires from the Rubicon and I liked those wheels better as well.

I noticed in the pix of the JL Rubi there are a few new displays available from the 8.4 that the 1500 version didn't have but looked useful.

I still own a CJ as well. I'm ok with plastic fenders vs our metal ones. Yes the metal style we have looks nicer but the JL will be my daily driver including winter so I'm more inclined to plastic from the standpoint of rust granted there are probably enough other spots where I'll see rust anyway.

The only style point I'm lukewarm on with the JL are the hourglass taillights but I would bet at some point there will be aftermarket replacements so I don't think it would be the end of the world.

Scroll down to the packages. LED package is NOT listed as an option for sport or sport S. One of these two things must be incorrect.
Yes this is confusing, I suspect that like many companies you have to buy some options as part of a package. In other words you want this bit and that bob you will have to buy them together in order to get one or the other. This is pretty common with all manufacturers, and some just bundle options into specific trim levels and don't even offer the option a-la-carte and hence the lack of inclusion as a separate order item.

MotorMan, if your timeline for a rig isn't right now, I suggest waiting for Bronco. As a Ford shareholder, I know we are gunning to compete with Wrangler
I’d buy a JL before a new Bronco. I saw spy shots of a Ford Everest running around as a Bronco mule and I’m already turned off

Actually it's not a technicality based on your argument. Your argument was that every Jeep had painted flares before the JK, when that isn't true. They had painted steel fenders, which were part of the body, and then certain premium packages (Sahara or Renegade on the YJ, Sahara on the TJ) came with painted plastic flares attached to the fenders, whereas the standard packages had standard black unpainted flares. Which isn't much different than what is being optioned now, just the JK/JLs lack true fenders.

You can call it semantics all you want but there is a big difference between a fender and a flare.

FENDER:
noun
The pressed and formed sheet-metal part mounted over the roadwheels of an automobile, bicycle, etc., to reduce the splashing ofmud, water, and the like.

Fender:
A Fender is the part of a car, truck or motorcycle that surrounds the wheel well. The primary function of a Fender is to prevent dirt and debris from being thrown into the air by the tire. Over time the definition of a Fender has become related to location; fenders are in the front while quarter panels are in the rear (minus duallys which still describe the rear as a “fender”). Tires with a factory offset typically have an exposed curve over the top of the tire.

Fender Flares:
An extension of the Fender that provides additional coverage for heavily offset or oversized wheels and tires.

Fender Flares will keep a truck or SUV in compliance with Vehicle Equipment Laws, which lowers the likelihood of Police fines. They also help retain resale value by deflecting rocks and debris away from the vehicle’s body. By installing Fender Flares you are protecting your investment as well as adhering to tire coverage laws.

A Fender Flare also gives you the advantage of styling your vehicle for a unique limited edition look. Most Flares come ready to paint out of the box, which gives you the ability to style your vehicle in a variety of different ways. Besides painting, you can also Line-X, Rhino line, or kevlar coat them.

The issue with both of those definitions: the front fender flares of the JK and the JL are actually THE fender.

New Engines.
New Axles.
New Brakes.
Mo’ Alumumumniuminuminum.

Lesser, but still worthwhile, new ease of use updates, Windshield, Door stops, Rear Vents, Improved Seats, Updated interior etc if you care.

Edit to add;

EVIC
Steering Wheel Audio
Cruise Control

...and likely a few more.

Just noticed the EVIC because I got that and paid for it, on my previous basic Sports.
Wait I thought the V6 was the same as JK. Has it been updated from 2018 JK?

What is EVIC?

Sorry I was referring to JKU. I think the steering wheel audio and cruise is standard on JKU Sport also.

I won't be purchasing a JKU. FCA will get my extra $2,000.

Has anyone read what the new turning radius is for the JLU Rubicon?

If you look closely, they are the outline of a Jeep!
