I grew up in northern NM at 8600 feet driving those '50 and '60 V-8s. I recall thinking at the time that the performance increased at least 50% driving down from the mountains to lower elevations, and conversely upon return to home performance would drop that same amount. It was a very very drastic change - almost unbelievable how drastic. I'm curious whether you are going to a Hybrid or maybe even an all electric vehicle?

Going for a twin turbo--Ford Bronco with the 2.7L.

hope you like it...ordered a 2022 wildtrak and waited a year and a half for it to show up and when it finally did ended up keeping "purple nurple." Jeep had way more get up and go and the bronco seemed like it was very poorly manufactured. Was really disappointed that the bronco didn't really meet my expectations. Ford has a way to go to really compete with Jeep in my opinion.

Not sure how that is possible given the HP/TQ difference between the 2.0T and 3.6L versus the 2.7TT and not my experience in test driving the Wildtrak, but perception is reality and I get it...

Ford has pushed Jeep to actually attempt to innovate so despite the love/hate relationship that appears to exist between the two brands, 2021+ JL owners should thank Ford to some degree. Jeep has been content to maintain the status quo for years before competition hit the market...

Just curious, you said you aren't paying market adjustment so who did you order through and did they give you an ETA on the Bronco?

No; I found one on the lot in TX that has nearly everything I wanted. It means a trip down, but it also means mini-road trip! I have had a number of discussions with different dealers and the supply is catching up to demand and ADM is fading...

Will do and fully agree on the legacy part. FCA increased the compression ratio on the 3.6L to 11:1 then did jack-all to use it. It has had the same HP/TQ for years and one would think the LEAST they could do would be to increase the HP/TQ to the highest that exists in production within the entire line-up. LAF.

For grins, I find it more than amusing that an engine that has nearly 1 liter less displacement can still produce more HP/TQ at 7K ASL versus the 3.6L at sea level (yeah, I get the twin turbos, but that is my point)--FCA get off your @$$ and improve the platform...

Your complaints at altitude are kind of your own doing, of all the available engine options you picked the lowest output version at sea level and the only na one with less than 400hp? The 2.0t, the ecodiesel, both hardly effected by altitude and obviously the 392 has the power to spare. I think something as simple as the livernoise tune may have scratched your itch for more power but it's not like their aren't other options in the JL lineup (obviously ecodiesel would have to be used at this point)? Comparing the highest output bronco to the lowest output JL is a bit misleading.

Not. So, no there were no other engines in the 2019 JL lineup that were available that I could have bought.

I get you bought what you could find at the time but the fact is the 2.0t did exist and even wheeling in telluride for a week at 10k+ I never felt it lacking power. That's like buying the 2.3L bronco because you find it in the color you want and then complaining it's underpowered and Ford needs to step their game up? There was stepped up when you bought and it's leveled up substantially with the 392 and the 4xe since? You posted as though the 3.6L was the only option and that's simply not true. For your use case it's in fact the worst option.

Strangely enough, of the mods and things I've done to my Wrangler, none of it was actually for the intended purpose of lightening the vehicle.

Really I was just saying the EcoDiesel has the HP and the Torque, he's looking for, in with a simple tune he can get the pedal response and the speed he's looking for.

The fastest lock on on my tuned Wrangler EcoDiesel at this moment is 105. Obviously on private roads.

I can tell you this and then I am done. Blasting in and out of altitude for a week is not the same as living in it. I know because I would come up to CO 7 or 8 times a year, but it was not until I moved here and drove daily that I realized the impact. The 2.0T was being produced but not available...
