Well…it has been a helluva ride and I never thought I would do it, but I said goodbye to the Grinch today. Been a while in coming and I contemplated a few things to prevent it, such as adding a supercharger or a turbocharger, but those would only serve to reduce the long-term reliability of the vehicle and make it even more difficult to maintain. In the end, 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque which was subsequently reduced to 225 horsepower and 205 pound-feet of torque is no match for 7K+ altitude and 5700# empty.

I regeared from 4.88 to 5.13 and it helped for a while, but living at altitude is vastly different than blasting in and out for a week or so—especially when your Jeep is a daily driver. It can really grind on you over time from the dragging gear shifts to the overall lack of power. Combine that with the inherent weaknesses within the 3.6L platform and it pushed my decision to sell it.

I will still hang out on the forum from time to time and share whatever/whenever I can, but PM me if something is needed. I have learned so much on this forum in the time I have been here and hopefully have been able to share reciprocally. I'll be posting some of the take-off parts over the next week or so. Ping me if interested.

I would also be remiss if I did not call out several people not only helping me but for knowledge sharing over the past 4 years and 72,890 miles:

@grimmjeeper
@DanW
@Rhinebeck01
@mgroeger
@blnewt
@Headbarcode
@Chocolate Thunder
@AnnDee4444
@Roky
@wibornz
@sourdough

Thanks for everything guys! I’ll see you on the trails…

... Shit.

I've referenced your weath of knowledge on more than one occasion. While other people come and go the community will surely loose a valuable member.
I'll still be here and am just a PM away; happy to continue to help anyway that I can.

Sorry to hear. But curious what the next vehicle will be (or is?).
After driving my Ecoboost F150, the Jeep is a slug. But I still love it for what it is.

Likely headed to the dark side--2023 Wildtrak w/2.7TT & 4.7 gearing.

I love the Bronco’s! I wish we had the MT88 in the Jeeps.
My daughter’s told me several times how much she loves the Broncos. …well-within my hearing distance. …while riding in my Jeep!

If only you could get a turbo wrangler from the factory.
I could not find a 2.0T in Mojito! when I bought mine. Had I remained at sea level the 3.6L likely would have been fine, but there were other issues with the 3.6L that helped make this decision.

You won’t be able to find a Mojito Bronco either! Stay on our side!

LOL - time for a change. Likely something in the Granite Crystal Metallic (aka Carbonized Gray Metallic) flavor...

I will say this I lived at 6K feet in Utah. Moved back to Texas. Feels the same on a day to day. Maybe a little more pep on the highway. It's not the altitude. The Jeep is just underpowered at all altitudes.
Well, I cannot argue the math...3% loss per 1K increase in altitude and the 3.6L does not have 21% of anything to spare....but agree--aside from the 3.0TD and the 392, Jeep is WOEFULLY lacking in the power department and always has...
