Great! .... looks decent too. Glad you did not delay and got'errrrr done.
What a great idea! I have had this freaking rattle since putting these 35s on. Will try this tomorrow and hope to solve the problem and eliminate the worry on messing up the tailgate. Thanks for sharing!

I didn't see this thread before needing to come up with a quick solution. Here is another option and what I did. It fit perfectly and also customizable to cut to desired length. All that is lacking is the need to paint black. The tubing fits around the bump stop cone and on top of the rubber lip. It does not come in contact with the paint.

Perfect, just what I was looking to know. My tailgate reinforcement arrives tomorrow and want to have everything ready to put on.

Mopar is now selling the bumpstops which look nice without the whole riser kit for the spare but they want 160 each:cwl::cwl: . I got the dishwasher hose and a stinger for added protection. I will get a bumper/spare option down the road when more options are available.

Question guys, now with this big tire/wheel (35 12.5 R20 / 20 x 12 -44) it covers the bottom of the backup camera on the JL and if you have the rear parking sensors it auto disables that and I get that nasty nag screen every single time I turn on the Jeep. Will the oversize Mopar tire carrier resolve this issue? I have a -44 offset on my wheels so my wheels come out a good amount on the camera, thanks!

You will undoubtedly have others post later today.. but, from what I have read on the forum the last few months, your answer is no in regard to the "oversized tire carrier".

Dependent on tire size, some guys have had some luck with tire repositioning and such. Guys will post and give you some ideas.

I think ...you could disable Disable Blind Spot detection and that will stop the nag/warning. Of course, you lose a JL feature you paid for. With the TazerJL programmer, you can "Enable/Disable Blind Spot detection".

I really hope aftermarket comes out with something to either push out the camera or have the wheel/tire come in more to clear the camera. I don't have the TazerJL, wonder if the dealer could disable it for me...

Second question, my setup does not vibrate or move because it's sitting on the rear bumper. Some rubbing but my question is will this buy me time so that I can pay off the wheels/tires to buy a oversize tire carrier and reinforcement bracket in the near future? or should I look into buying something sooner than later?

Here is my Macgyver attempt. Worked out pretty well. Bought the extensions off ebay, measured, cut them, glued them into the OEM bump stops, and put the spare back on tightly. $26 bucks in total. I have the Rough Country relocation kit and 35's.

I copied FatBoy01 and picked up a couple of the rubber feet. Then used a few inches of scrap PVC I had laying around (which I painted black). Turned out nice and it's solid enough to do the job. Thanks to all for sharing your ideas and solutions.

@McBeevee
Look very good. And it cost you under $4.00 probably. No need at all to spend $20+.
