I’m in the market to buy a set of Falken Wildpeaks for my JL. I checked all the usual vendors and then I remembered that Walmart sells tires. I know the have some tires made by big name companies with model names or numbers not available anywhere else. But, I checked their online info for the Wildpeaks and everything they show matches the Falken website. Same model number, same ratings, same tread depth/pattern, but about $50 per tire cheaper than the other online tire vendors. Am I missing something here? Are the Wildpeaks that Walmart sells truly “real” Wildpeaks? Anyone else purchased them from Walmart? If so what do you think?

You need to be careful with Wal-Mart as they typically won't install tires that aren't the exact factory size. My Tundra came with 18" wheels, but I replaced them with take off 20's from a 1794. I was shopping for replacement tires and they said they could only install what the door sticker said (which were the 18's it came with). I said "good luck stretching them over my 20" wheels".

I forgot to check Discount Tire, their price is identical to Walmart. I’ll have to see if Disc
Tires are legit about the same prices you will find on Amazon
I completely forgot about Amazon. They’re $50 apiece less than Walmart. I’m going to have my local garage mount them anyway so that’s not an issue.

The way around their BS policy is to buy the tires and then just roll the wheels into the tire center and have them mounted. Of course you have to R&R them on the vehicle.

+1 more for @Discount Tire . The local one here has never given me any trouble with my tire and wheel combinations, and I've never had any issues with their work.

Sometimes you'll need to order in person or just refuse to put in your vehicle details if ordering online. Otherwise, I've had the web page not allow me to order something outside of factory spec. I usually just call my local shop and speak with a human though, so it's never been a real issue ?

Definitely go with @Discount Tire with free rotation and balance for the life of the tire and will match any price. They can mount and roadforce balance up to 40" tires too.

Supposedly the tires Walmart gets are different. I was told they are made specifically for Walmart in volume and aren’t of the same quality as those sold in tire stores.

Take it with a grain of salt. This came from my guy at American Tire who has always struck me as no BS/honest and I’ve known him for years. That being said, who knows.

Personally, I’d buy from Discount or other reputable tire shop that does price matching. You’ll get better service than you’d get from the knuckleheads at Walmart.

I just wish I had a Discount Tire shop near me, closest one is 591 miles away :crying:. That being said, I did check their internet site, discountiredirect.com, and they have a recommended installer 4 miles from me so that may work out. I'll have to make a final decision on tire size and go from there.
