I ordered/bought 35's from Walmart. The order came in and I went to have them installed today. The conversation went like this:

Service manager: "What vehicle are these going on?"
Me: "A Jeep"
SM: "What tires are supposed to be on it?"
Me: "35 x 12.50"
SM: "What tire size is on the door sticker?"
Me: "I don't know... 255 something"
SM: "We can't install these"
Me: "What?"
SM: "We can only install what the door sticker says"
Me: "OK, I'll take them then"

He didn't even look at the Jeep.

Another guy was there getting something done and he said the same thing happened to him when he wanted his snow tires swapped on. They were 1 number off but he has had them on before.

Yes, I know it is a line of bullshit and other Walmarts install oversized tires. My brother had 305s installed last weekend on his Jeep on Long Island. This was Waterford, CT store. It's a shame people get away with this bullshit but my time is more valuable than sitting in the store or on the phone to complain to a "Manager" that doesn't really care either. I'll just find a local Mom and Pop repair shop to do it.

I ordered a set of Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/t from my Walmart and as soon as I went to have them installed 2 guys came out and looked to make sure they were the same/right size ??‍♂.

Have a look at JJ Offroad. Very local to you and they do good work.

Stop buying tires at Walmart.

There's a whole offroad community full of great vendors dedicated to Jeeps who will earn your patronage as a customer.
I'd never have tires installed by Walmart, but I got 4- 37x12.50r17 kanati mud hogs shipped to the house from Walmart for $412. Mom and pops don't have those kind of clearance sales and trying to make them price match would cost them money.

I purchased 37” tires from the local Costco and they wouldn’t install them on my Jeep. I brought in the loose tires and rims and they had zero issue swapping them. They even still provided warranty as long as I remove the wheel and bring it in loose.

Walmart and I believe Sams & Costco have the same policy. They only install door jam sized tires. I have slightly wider and taller tires that I suspect they wouldn't install either.

The idea of letting any "mechanic" at Wal-Mart within 10 feet of any vehicle I own makes me physically nauseous.

There's no way you saved enough money to justify going to Wal-Mart. Plus doesn't @Discount Tire price match?
