My 2015 Sahara had a Mopar lift and 33.5x10.5 KO2s. The tires were D rated, but because they were narrow with a small contact patch, and relatively lightweight, the Jeep drove and rode like a champ.

It was truly fun to toss around up a mountain road. In a Jeep kind of way anyway.

That’s a lot more than I can say for any Wrangler on 35s I’ve own. Including the current one.
Looks perfect for that ride height. Really makes me wish my Jeep had come with 17" wheels.

Guess I've lucked out so far. Most of the times I've gone out have been with people I know from here though.
My bad experiences were folks from work when I first got into wheeling years ago, and then thankfully just random people on the trail. Most recent one was a doozy - at Uwharrie, on Dickey Bell. Me and my buddy always walk the climb to see how it's looking that weekend. And of course, we took long enough that a line formed that we became the back of. So we're just chilling watching folks go and a group starts coming down while the line to go up took a pause and let them come down. Dude comes down the climb, spins around and starts going back up. Dick move #1. Then, this dude rams his Jeep (YJ or TJ, can't remember too well) into a big rock, straight into the Y link for his steering, despite a crowd of like 10 people telling him to stop. Tie rod goes POP. Now this dude's disabled directly in front of the line of Jeeps he cut in front of. Then, they start winching him out the way and his wheel starts riding up this dead tree right on the side of the trail. Again, crowd yelling to stop is ignored, and tree comes down into the crowd of onlookers. Then they almost rolled his Jeep winching it back off the first part of the obstacle.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
The amount of jeepers that spell "wench" when referring to a "winch" is too goddamn high. Local accents aside. It's almost as bad as those who don't know "loose" vs "lose".
Or brakes & breaks, c'mon you surely don't need a break job do you????

Thanks. I agree.

You can achieve a similar look with your stock Sahara wheels, 275/70R18 tires, and a $50 3/4-inch leveling kit.

That tire measures 33.2x10.8 inches.

If I had a magic wand, I’d go back to that setup!

My steel bumpers are for the shittyassphukindrivers in case they happen to run into my JL while texting. I had a T-boned Infiniti thanks to that, so I'm not taking any chances :)
Steel bumpers should be mandatory on any vehicle here in New Mexico. I swear to God we have the worst drivers anywhere in the country. Cant wait for some idiot to run into the back of my heavy duty steel bumper!

I don’t thing so. Renegade sales have been declining pretty much since it came out, and they sell with a hefty discount.

After what I’ve seen, I wouldn’t touch a Renegade with 10-foot pole. Even less a used one.
The thing I don’t get is the massive number I saw when I visited a friend in PA. I saw at least 3-4 a day when I went out driving, and there were almost none at the dealership.

If nothing else the taillights are so damn ugly.

This will be unpopular.
I don’t care for the front bumper and lights on those expensive AEV builds. That bar is enormous and it’s slammed up against the grill. Between that and the bug-eyed lights, most of the grill is hidden.
Ok. Go ahead, y’all. “Lamb blast” me. I can take it.

(P.S. Sorry if I insulted anyone)
Agree 100% with this!

That's so dumb that it's kinda awesome. Do it!! ?
I considered it, briefly, thankfully my common sense grabbed hold. Besides, we like the "Willys" decals.

Hope you don’t ever get hit. Depends on the bumper’s design. Most aftermarket bumpers don’t include crumple zones or any space between the frame attachments and the bumper skin so frame damage will most likely occur in any hard impact on the bumpers.
Would still prefer steel bumpers to plastic ones here in NM, especially Albuquerque.

The last sentence is probably true since you have experience with not having a Rubicon. Appears, however, that you missed the sweet spot. Ya need tires on the lighter side such as KO2 C rated which measure 34” on the nose), 4.10’s, and an engine not including the 3.6. I like the 315 width too but wouldn’t mind a 285/75 or 290/75 but haven’t seen them in a C rated cushier config.
There is plenty of C rated options in 285/75/17 and a few 35x11.5/17

My point was I could look at a taller tire. I’m already familiar with the stock 33” tires and the 35’s I have which are BFG KO2’s. Can you suggest any C rated tires in the sizes I would look at?
285/75/17 - C rated - KO2, Toyo oc at3, Nitto ridge grappler, Nitto Recon Grappler, Cooper discoverer at3 xlt

35x11.5/17 - C rated - Toyo OC AT3, Nitto Recon Grappler, Kenda Klever (not sure the sub model name)

On the farm we called them "Knuckle Busters". One of the most useful tools on the farm, but dangerous. I cant believe OSHA allows them because so many people get hurt with them. Usually their fault, but to OSHA, that doesn't seem to matter.
Needs the default old-school tool warning label.

So I assume the mob made his death painful but swift?

I have 35s on my 2dr Rubicon. Went with KO2s and the wheels I chose are within a pound of stock to keep weight gain to an absolute minimum. I took less than a 1 MPG hit but am still re-gearing to 4.56s. I ordered them at the same time as my wheels and tires but for whatever reason the rear gears have been on backorder since. I've not been a fan of the 4.10s and 35s in the few months that I've been driving on that combination. Even taking every precaution possible to minimize the impact the hits to acceleration and driveability are still there. When you look at the common ratios that people do end up going with when re-gearing, usually at 37s+, it could be pretty easily argued that the Rubicon is undergeared at 33s and 4.10s much less 35s or 37s.

That is one good-looking Jeep.
