Pretty minor, but didn't they add something that honked the horn when you hit the desired air pressure while airing up in '21? I remember reading about it after getting my '20.
They removed it mid year 2021 due to chip shortage. My late 2021 build ( picked up beginning of December) was missing it. I was not told it was removed from the package when I ordered it. I was really wanting that too.

Yeah, mine was built April of '21. If (my failing) memory serves, I believe it was shortly after mine was built.

I was in your same situation last Dec when my Jeep was totaled in an accident. I decided to buy new because the people I talked to who are heavily involved in our local Jeep clubs said that they noticed a lot of the people having issues with their rigs were driving ‘20 and ‘21s. That includes their own rig. I’m not saying that all ‘20/‘21s are bad in any way but there were lots of supply chain issues, labor shortages, factory shutdowns, etc that occurred during those years. Just something else to consider. I was also fortunate that I could borrow a car to use while I waited for mine to be built. Just my 2 cents.

There were changes made to the headlamp electrical wiring in 2021; the LEDs don’t require a separate wire for the halos on 2021+ JLs.

I’m sure there were also changes made to the CANBUS, as lots of 2021+ owners are now getting error codes when they swap halogens with LEDs.

The 2.0T eTorque was available through part of 2019 and 2020.

There was also the change to the steering box mentioned already. The switch was readied for 2021 production, at the end of July 2020. A TSB was issued for prior model years.

Wait what?
Yeah, a lot of folks are having an issue with their '22 and the 2.0L motor. We are receiving a message on our dash cluster "Performance Limited Service Fuel System". This is among ALL trims and different elevations, from CO to FL. We've all used fuel from 85 to 93 and see it. I brought my Jeep into the Fort Collins Jeep dealership and they told me the reason I'm getting the performance limited message is because of my electronic sway bar disconnect. I asked them, "how does the electronic sway bar disconnect relate to a message of service fuel system?" The service advisor replied to me, "you have to understand how these things work." lmao

So, they are 100% convinced that replacing the electronic sway bar disconnect and sway bar will resolve the message we're seeing. So, my question to them is, "how come Sport and Sahara models are seeing it as well?" They cannot answer and just tell me "the electronic sway bar disconnect is the problem." So I keep telling everyone to bring their Jeep there and get a free Rubicon disconnect if you have a non-Rubicon model.

My 2022 has a dimming rear-view mirror. My 2021 did not.

Why would you turn off traction control on dry pavement?
@Cowboy from hell didn't say they turn off the traction control, they asked if they should. It seems that they don't quite understand what the button does.

Here it is from the manual:

Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Indicator Light begins to flash during acceleration, ease up on the accelerator and apply as little throttle as possible. Be sure to adapt your speed and driving to the prevailing road conditions. ESC enhances directional control and stability of the vehicle under various driving conditions. ESC corrects for oversteering or understeering of the vehicle by applying the brake of the appropriate wheel(s) to counteract the above conditions. Engine power may also be reduced to help the vehicle maintain the desired path. WARNING!
 Oversteer — when the vehicle is turning more than appropriate for the steering wheel position.
NOTE:
ERM is disabled any time the ESC is in “Full Off” mode (if equipped) Ú page 286.  Understeer — when the vehicle is turning less than appropriate for the steering wheel position. ESC uses sensors in the vehicle to determine the vehicle path intended by the driver and compares it to the actual path of the vehicle. When the actual path does not match the intended path, ESC applies the brake of the appropriate wheel to assist in counteracting the oversteer or understeer condition. The ESC Activation/Malfunction Indicator Light located in the instrument cluster will start to flash as soon as the ESC system becomes active. The ESC activation/Malfunction Indicator Light also flashes when the TCS is active. If the ESC activation/Malfunction

ESC Operating Modes
Depending upon model and mode of operation the ESC system may have multiple operating
modes.

ESC On
“ESC On” is the normal operating mode for the ESC. Whenever the vehicle is started, the ESC system will be in this mode. This mode should be used for most driving conditions. Alternate
ESC modes should only be used for specific reasons as noted in the following paragraphs.

Partial Off
This mode may be useful if the vehicle becomes stuck. This mode may modify TCS and ESC
thresholds for activation, which allows for more wheel spin than normally allowed.
To enter the “Partial Off” mode, momentarily push the ESC OFF switch and the ESC OFF
Indicator Light will illuminate. To turn the ESC on again, momentarily push the ESC OFF switch
and the ESC OFF Indicator Light will turn off.

Full Off — If Equipped
The “Full Off” mode is intended for off-highway or off-road use only and should not be used on any public roadways. In this mode, TCS and ES features are turned off. To enter the “Full Off” mode, push and hold the ESC OFF switch for five seconds while the vehicle is stopped with the
engine running. After five seconds, a chime with sound, the ESC OFF Indicator Light will
illuminate, and the “ESC Off” message will display in the instrument cluster. To turn ESC off again, momentarily push the ESC OFF switch.

Ya, I was asking why anyone would want to. But glad you linked the manual for them.

My 2021 has this.
Interesting...it was the first thing I noticed on my 2022 (because it was one of the first things I looked at when getting in the driver's seat).

Electronics have been JL's weakness since launch, but it sounds like they got even worse starting in 2021!

One more reason to hold on tight to my 2018.
