I have been working with the jeep.com website for the past 6 months as I research how I want to build my 2022 4 door Rubicon. I want to run 37s with 4.88 gears so I got all excited when I heard the 4.88 was an add on option to the 2022. But with the 2022 jeep.com build site now up I do not see the 4.88 gears listed as an option. Anyone know why? I see it listed on order guide just not the website so does that mean you can add the 4.88 when you order though the dealer? Thanks!

In the case of my 2021 Rubicon, the price is up from the original price I paid (my sticker, Oct 2020 for a 2021 model), but the 2021 went up in cost through 2021 where I've marked below in red blocks. Now for 2022, it's down in cost over-all vs where the 2021 was increased through the year, but up in some areas. However, I believe the website builder has been known to have issues, so I wouldn't fully trust it.

Ha, I'm a spreadsheet kind of person, too Reseg.

I have a PDF of my 2021 build, which was completed early November and a 2022 build, which matches my 2022 order. For me, it was a meaningful overall savings.

Whereas the Alpine was included in the MY21 8.4" Uconnect, that package is now standard on the 2022 MY Rubicon. Also, keyless entry was an option on 2021 but now standard on the 2022.

As sardogtella mentioned above, 4.88's are only an option with the 6-speed manual. The 8-speed auto is far more forgiving with taller gears.

I am planning to purchase my jeep with the 6 speed manual so that is great news that the 4.88 gears are an option with that transmission. FYI, when I selected the manual transmission on the new 2022 jeep build website, the 4.88 gears still don't show as an option but I guess it will when I go into the dealer to order?

Jeeps website and it's build tool is notorious for being very slow to update to current offerings. The link that I put in my post on the 1st page is updated monthly, and better represents the dealers ordering forms.

Hi,

Try Jeep.ca the Canadian site seems to match the order guide

Just FYI that 8spd 8HP75 is actually $2500 not 1500 as per website.

Yeah, my order sheet reflects $2,500 for the transmission. I'm not sure why the online build from Jeep.com is showing $1,500. Are we saying the jeep.com is incorrect? If so, then the difference is just under $800 less from MY21 to MY22.

Here's my original order from the dealer:

It wasn't on the website yesterday, but yes, the dealer will be able to order them. I had mine changed to the 4.88's once I realized you could get them in '22. Pretty happy to have ordered a '22 with some of the options from last year being standard now.
