Hi all, new to the forum.
I wanted to post my build here and what I’m currently on, then what I’d like to do with my Jeep, and hopefully get some opinions on what should be the next steps!
My current setup:
33x12.5r20 Yokohama Geolander X-ATs on stock Sahara 4xe wheels
Upgraded tire carrier
Aftermarket Atenna
Ceramic Coat interior and exterior
15% tint all around 30% front windshield

Jeep Wrangler JL Wrangler Mod Recommendations? 4F0986F3-15FA-4AA3-A73D-3CB642E479EF

Things I’m planning on adding:
1.5” Spacers (ordered)
Fender flare extensions (ordered)
Stubby front bumper
Black out the silver grill inserts
Debadge Sahara and Wrangler Unlimited emblem and black out the Jeep emblem
Potentially 4xe decals on the hood

Any suggestions of what else I should add? I’m also on a mission to find a half roof rack that’s compatible with sky one touch top without spending $2k on the stealth one ?
Looking forward to having intellectual conversations!

Here are a few ideas on convenience and lighting:
  • Improve lightning when backing up; Oracle and Diode Dynamics both have options that could work depending on your factory packages
  • Add hidraulic hood struts from Redline Tuning
  • Improve sound and temp insulation; Hothead Headliner for the SOT and Sound Assassin+Bedtred or Armorlite come to mind
  • Replace keyfobs with sth smaller and prettier from Threedom
  • Add plastic cubbies or other storage solutions inside
There a million other things you can do to a Wrangler of course, and tou can find info on almost all of them here in the forums; use the search function wisely and check out members’ build threads; you’ll find almost anything!

What is your use case? What do you want the Jeep to do. Are you building an overlander, a trail rig or just going for a certain look? Hard to rec things unless we know where you want to end up.

in hindsight, I like this approach better! Figure how you’ll use it and what you’re missing/would like to change and then go find a solution.

If you plan to run even moderately difficult trails I say armor 1st. Some form of rocker protection wether it's factory Rubicon rails or aftermarket. Relocate the steering stabilizer above the tie rod. An engine skid at minimum or a full set of belly skids. That's where I'd start a new build, especially on a budget as it allows you to wheel hard trails without damaging the Jeep even when you do drag it through an obstacle.

This. If you aren’t leaving pavement then that makes a huge difference in what you can get away with.

I would honestly say that I do want to set up an Overland build little by little. Definitely want to trail as well, but I do want to have that adventure aspect and look (functional and appealing). I'm new to this so it'll take me some time haha but I don't want it to just be a mall crawler anymore, planning a trip to Ocala National Forest with some of the boys at work.

I like this idea too, I want to get a stubby front bumper, rocker rails on the sides and upgrade the skid plates, get as much body armor as I can on a budget.

For Ocala or any FL Jeep wheeling, you don’t have to do much. 35s, a lift, some armor - that’s about it.

Hell yeah, being that mine is a 4xe I wouldn't want to lift it, but I'm down for armor and I'm currently riding on 33s that should be fine no?

ABSOLUTELY Lucas! I was wheeling Citrus WMA on 33s with no lift, and did just fine! I wouldn’t hesitate to do Ocala, including the Badge of Honor trail, with 33s, no lift, and no lockers. PM me your phone number if you want to stay in touch!

I would replace those wheels with 17 inch immediately and go with 35s personally. I think 35s are the sweet spot and look the most proportionate on the 4 door.
