Jeep would not start on cold day yesterday. Just turned over and sputtered and then nothing but turning engine over. Didn't want to run the battery down, hopefully not the fuel pump it drove and ran just fine before parking for a day. Should have put it in the garage but wasn't paying attention to weather forecast. Supposed to warm up to near 30 today and mid thirties tomorrow.

If I just put ignition to run without brake pressed, I can hear the pump working but sort of loud so was hoping it was still working correctly. Of course when your Jeep doesn't start everything sounds loud and notice stuff normally would not.

When people with fuel pump failure tried to start could you even hear the pump working? Will try again when it warms up this afternoon, otherwise no idea have to send it to the dealer.

Did see a thread here that another member had similar problem in Texas when it got super cold. But fingers crossed.

Hey Scott, I'm just curious here, as I'm also in Alaska: did you have your Jeep's engine block heater plugged in for a while before you (unsuccessfully) tried to start it? Or does your Jeep even have an engine block heater?

I also have a 2022 JL, and it started right up yesterday at 1 degree F. And I had meant to plug in the engine block heater beforehand for a couple of hours, but forgot to do that.

I would say with wind over weekend it was dipping below 0 but not completely sure I was lazy and binging a TV show so didn't drive it for entire day.

No block heater they were not available at the time of ordering unfortunately. I just hope it is not the nefarious fuel pump!

Yeah, I know, it pissed me off royally that Jeep removed the engine block heater as a (relatively cheap) factory build option with the 2022 model year. Idiots! So I had to pay about $600 to have one installed after the fact. But there was no way that I was going to try to get through a Southcentral winter (much less a winter in the Interior, if you happen to live there) without one.

I haven't dealt with a diesel in many years. Are anti gelling additives still a thing? Or is that included in the mix from the pump these days?

Go get some diesel 911, should fix it right up. Afterwards, make sure you treat your fuel with a little Hot Shot. It's worth the extra precaution in colder environments. I had to walk 3 miles in snowy conditions to get the 911 stuff when I bought from a bad station and did not have any treatment, tough lesson.

Sounds like it is worth a shot at this point. Sounds like some good stuff to have all the time. I will give it a shot thanks, there is a chance I still had some fuel before the arctic mix made it to the pumps. Working from home I don't use as much as I used to.

I read the instructions but how long did it take for yours?

It was gelling near the filter and the base garages were too tiny for my truck :crying: I believe I had to wait about 40 mins. I was lucky I did not have to pull the filter and change it like others did. Once you get it going, make sure to drive it around and really get it up to temp. Find a truck station near the highway where the diesel is refreshed more often and has the correct winter blend. Sorry that happened to you man.
