Yeah, going into reverse is now, after 400 miles, the only time that I find myself still stalling it sometimes. WHAT the heel were they thinking, to make the reverse gear so tall? Does anyone REALLY need to be zipping around at 12 or 14 mph in REVERSE?? I'd have cut it in half, and it would...
Yeah, I know, it pissed me off royally that Jeep removed the engine block heater as a (relatively cheap) factory build option with the 2022 model year. Idiots! So I had to pay about $600 to have one installed after the fact. But there was no way that I was going to try to get through a...
Hey Scott, I'm just curious here, as I'm also in Alaska: did you have your Jeep's engine block heater plugged in for a while before you (unsuccessfully) tried to start it? Or does your Jeep even have an engine block heater?
I also have a 2022 JL, and it started right up yesterday at 1 degree...
Jeepoch, I totally agree with you here! I do believe that 99% of the drivers out there are fundamentally clueless as to the radical if not exponential increase in risk that comes from driving at higher speeds, much less tailgating or pushing the envelope of traction while driving at higher...
Dcmdon, from my many university physics courses, I am intimately aware of the square power function of kinetic energy, and it is never far from my mind while driving. In fact, I see it in practice all the time while driving in the winter on icy roads, with other drivers who brake FAR too hard...
JeepViking, I feel the exact same way as you.
This issue of bubbling paint & corrosion under the paint was not unknown to me before ordering my 2022 JL, but I was not aware of the apparent widespread extent of it, nor was I aware of just how quickly it is manifesting itself in many Jeeps. Nor...
AlgUSF, I only took deliver of my 2022 Willys Sport less than two months ago. When I picked it up from the shipper to drive it home, I thought to myself "Damn, will I EVER get used to this weird light clutch?", stalling it three or four times that day. But now, with just over 400 miles on it...
Has anyone tried to carry a double cockpit (2-person) bluewater kayak on a 2-door Jeep? Just trying to picture it is a bit amusing --- and a little scary.
Z, if you were responding to me, I have absolutely no qualms about using 4WD when it is snowy or slippery! In the pickup that I'd been driving for 26 years prior to getting the Jeep a couple of months ago, I used 4WD routinely in the winter, at least in my driveway and on the surface streets...
Kllrbee, if I could give you 1000 thumbs-up here, I would. Because you explain, better than I did or could, just why this ESS system is so profoundly stupid and detrimental, to whit, the fact that it is parasitic on the main battery, and degrades the performance and life of the main battery...
I have to concur with Vinman on this.
I have a carport along the back of my house, which has a sharp 90 degree bend into it from the end of the driveway. That driveway is often very slick in the winter, especially late in the winter, so while backing up my 96 Ram pickup into the carport, I...
Interesting, Rscott.
I had the dealer install the same (I think!) Mopar fuel door on my 2022 Willys Sport, but mine does not have the word "FUEL" on the outside, nor the word "Jeep" on the inside.
As an aside, I think it is just crazy that they would make ANY Jeep without this fuel filler door...
People I know have experienced rapid wear on their Blizzaks (for example) even in the winter, when we had relatively little ice or snow, and the roads remained pretty dry throughout the season. I know one man who wore out a set of Blizzaks in one season!
