Hey everyone! I have a 22 Willy’s 3.6 engine. When in reverse, and Turing left and right I get this terrible clicking noise. The Jeep has been in the shop multiple times, they even opened and star case, and I’ve contacted Jeep wave. They’re telling me it’s normal noise and I have a “unicorn”. Just wanted to see if anyone else has the issue? It’s not consistent, but is becoming more consistent and louder as I put miles on it. Other than the noise, I have had no other issues.

That's way more odd sounding than my diesel. Are there panels or shields missing? Kind of weird it changes as the wheel moves

That does not sound like any gas v6 I have ever heard, you may want a second opinion.

Are you sure you didn’t just put some diesel fuel in there ??? that does sound lovely! I def don’t think the sound is normal could be start of something, I would maybe take it to a different jeep dealer or a trusty mechanic shop for a second opinion

Do you always go to the same gas station?
Maybe change grade or stations to see a difference?

Do you know where abouts the noise is coming from? "for sure engine? or rear end, front, middle ect?"
I have the 3.6 and mine doesn't sound like that one bit.

They’re telling me it’s normal noise and I have a “unicorn”.
They're full of crap. That is 100% not normal.

I had the 3.6 in my '15 JKU and now have one in my '20 JLU. My wife had the 3.6 in her last 2 Grand Cherokees. I can tell you for certain that none of them made that kind of noise.

I'd head to another shop/dealer. You might want to connect with @JeepCares to see what they can do for you.

Unicorn my ass. That’s not a good sound at all. Keep pushing, forcefully but politely, until you get a satisfactory explanation and resolution.
And if polite ends up not working, start mentioning lawyers.

I know of another jeep that does this too when they turn. Mine does it when I accelerate. I still haven’t figured it out.
