Hello,
I finally pick up a 2021 Jeep Sahara 4XE with 20k miles on it. This is my 5th jeep ive own, my first one was when i was 18 and Im now 40 ha ha So I have slowed down a bit from bashing jeeps when I was younger. Ive been researching a lot on this forum of different lift kits, in particular the Evo Mfg stage 4 overland, the Metal Cloak 3.5" Game Changer, the Rock krawler adventure or adventure X, and the clayton 3.5" premium . I will be honest as i will not offroad this up rocks or anything crazy, mainly a backroad in the mountains is the most this jeep will ever see. My wife will be driving it often back and forth to work, and it will see the highway often where the speed limit is 80mph. I want a good look and functional...I know, call me a mall crawler I understand ha ha ha So im looking for a suspension that is relatively quiet, not a bunch of squeaking and creaks.... Looking for something stable for cruising the highway at speed, with good ride around town driving. I heard the rock krawler had some joint issues and was noisy...??? A lot of people seem to like the Metal Cloak but it seems mainly for off roading? I plan on King shocks with remote reservoirs and adjusters but open to other shock ideas.... Thanks for all your help! Also up for tire size ideas as well... I will not be flexing this thing out or anything nuts biggest bump is a pothole or a washboard back road...

I would stay stock suspension, but maybe put on a 35" all terrain if you wanna make it look more butch.

Edit: just caught that you're on a Sahara. Maybe a spacer lift to clear 35s, but honestly, I wouldn't sink a bunch of money into a suspension you're not going to use.

If you're dead set on lifting and bigger tires, I would go for a 2.5" lift and 35's because it sounds like it's mostly a daily driver with lots of highway. This combo gives you a bit of the look you're going for, without a lot of the added maintenance of 37"+ tires and higher lifts.

For which suspension company, I've had both Metalcloak and Rock Krawler and can say they are both excellent quality. One of the major advantages for Metalcloak was the maintenance free joints, but I believe Rock Krawler has an options for that now as well.

Metalcloak Rocksport (RED) shocks are also a great budget option while you figure out what you really want out of your Jeep, but if you ever do fully flex out the suspension with those shocks, you will need a new front driveshaft or you will be risking damage. With a shorter shock limiting your down travel, the factory front driveshaft will be fine.

Clayton is also very highly regarded on this forum and makes good stuff from what I can see. I don't see EVO mentioned often, but they were/are very popular with a lot of the JK owners. Not sure why they haven't caught on much here.

To be completely honest, you could probably do a 2" leveling kit from Teraflex, AEV, or really any other manufacturer (because they're just spacers), add the longer Mopar lift front lower control arms, and get adjustable front and rear trackbars or your choice and you will be set. That will support a 35" tire and save you a TON of money. You can also add shock extensions if you're not ready to replace as well.

Looks like your scenario doesn't need a lift. If you are doing it for looks and at the same time you dont want it to drive like a dog after doing a half assed lift and larger tires then you are better off sticking to 2-2.5" lifts with 35s AT tires.

Appreciate the post... just to chime in, there are a lot of great options for you.

Even though we are known for our off road flex... From the beginning of our suspension journey we focused on making a suspension system that rides like Caddy on the road, corners like a Sports Car, and can off road with the best of them.

At the most basic level you can do a 2.5" True Dual Rate Kit with RockSport Reds and will have a great daily driver rig ready to perform on those occasional off road adventures.

Feel free to reach out to my team if you would like to talk with someone one on one about your build plans. Give us a call any time at 916-631-8071.

The 4xe is heavy, which generally helps the ride, but as you mentioned a beefier spring rate (like an overland style kit) may give you that stability you are looking for. With adjustable shocks planned, that should give you a little flexibility in picking spring rate.

I'd run some kind of rubber bushing (control arms) for better NVH, plus the benefit of being maintenance free.

Why the need for a lift?
I see none for me, ego's in check.

I'm running a Metalcloak 3.5 game changer and it rides much better than stock. I have heard many others with similar experience so you don't worry about ride quality with that one. That said, it is probably overkill for what you have in mind so you could probably just do a spacer lift or no lift as others have suggested. However, it might be nice to have the capability just in case you want to relive your younger days ;)

Or,

Have you considered not....

You say you won't be going off road. So why would you spend bad money after worse. Taking a vehicle that was designed to be good off road, modifying it to the degree that it's better than stock off road, and then not going off road, seems silly...

Theres always a possibility of taking it out for some fun.... Im looking for a good looking rig, that looks different from every other jeep running around town. Dont have time normally to go out and break stuff as i currently work 7 days a week 16-18 hours a day. Im not a doctor or a lawyer, but i work my tail off.. but ill admit I do break for lunch and dinner but i put in the hours to make my dreams come true and to set my kids up for college one day. So a lift kit, wheels, tires, and good shocks is a must, even if its expensive. As they say... a good looking mall crawling rig with a very rare outing here and there, if anything high speed down a back road.

I mean you arent going to look different from any other Wrangler out there unless you start embrasing your inner @Tredsdert and I dont see that happening.
