  1. Which Lift Kit should I pick

I'm running a Metalcloak 3.5 game changer and it rides much better than stock. I have heard many others with similar experience so you don't worry about ride quality with that one. That said, it is probably overkill for what you have in mind so you could probably just do a spacer lift or no lift...
  2. Spare tire blocks hitch ball coupler

If you just need space above to drop the hitch onto the ball just open the door when you put the trailer on.
  3. Is Metalcloak worth the price?

I have their 3.5 GC lift, full belly pan, rear bumper, drag link. I am impressed with the quality of everything. I have had only great customer service experiences with them. They usually call after I place a big order and when there was a problem with the bushings on two of the control arms...
  4. Not the usual bumper question

They are not really protected on the OEM steel bumper.
  5. Is Trailbuilt Offroad a reputable website to order wheel and tire packages from?

Reviving an old thread to see if anyone has recent experience with Trail Built Off-Road. I'm planning to buy Icon Alloy Recon Pro wheels and MT Baja Boss AT tires. Unfortunately, while I can buy these from my local America's tire (Discount tire), they will not mount them because they don't want...
  6. The more I research the more confused I get.

Check that your rear shock bolts are tight. If a top bolt is loose you will hear a sound like you describe. Not that I have any personal experience with that ;)
  7. Need help getting drag link off pitman arm

I just went through this myself. Tried all the tricks in that thread including propping a 2x4 from the foundation of my house to the end of the pitman are so I could beat on the pickle fork really hard without worrying about breaking the steering box. In the end I removed the pitman arm, cut off...
  8. To those of you with XR’s who’ve gone with MetalCloak 3.5” kit and 37’s…

I used one. I measured and I think that is the minimum you need to avoid bottoming out on the shock. You need something more than the long bump stop because the lower shock relocation bracket moves it up an inch or so from the stock location. I am interested to hear others experience since I...
  9. Roof Rack?

Check out DeeZee racks. I have one and I really like it. Since it is compatible with T bolts it's super easy to attach stuff. It comes with a small rack for over the freedom panels and a main rack. I didn't want the small rack so I used all the cross bars on the back. There are a few threads on...
  10. Your Best Pictures from your Home State / Province 🗺️

Great pics. That's almost a once in a lifetime snow right there.
  11. XR Wheels as Beadlocks

Wow! You hit the jackpot with that deal.
  12. Anyone try these LED fog lights?

Thanks, those look great. I really like the off-road high beam function. Now If I could only find a sale that brings them into my price range.
  13. Anyone try these LED fog lights?

I fried the OEM fog lights in my steel bumper and I'm considering replacing them with generic ones. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09BR2RBPQ/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_15?smid=A38DI4UD01Z0KB&th=1 I'm also open to other lights that are...
  14. JScan, option to enable hood alarm works in reverse?

I was able to enable the hood alarm so it works properly on my 22 without auto start. Interesting how it seems really hit or miss whether it works or not.
  15. Where do you put the lifting arm on a high lift jack to lift your Jeep?

You can use a lift mate attachment to lift the wheel if your wheel has holes that fit. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00042KGWG/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  16. Rusty's JLU Off-Road SideStep Rocker Armor Full Installation & Review

I found a review on You tube that pointed out a weakness in these that could be a point of failure if you pivot on them. I decided to go with a different slider because of this.
  17. This is what perseverance looks like while working on a Jeep. What's your story of "this should be a quick fix"....NOT

While replacing my drag link I just could not get the bolt out of the pitman arm. Tried all the tricks suggested in a post on this topic, banging really hard with a pickle fork, heat, etc. After two days of that I resigned myself to the fact that I had to remove the pitman arm so I could pound...
  18. Skiing Behind Jeep on Glacial Lake

Very unique and impressive all around! Thanks for sharing.
  19. Rusty's JLU Off-Road SideStep Rocker Armor Full Installation & Review

Thanks for letting me know how they are holding up after having them for a while. Glad to hear you would get them again.
  20. Rusty's JLU Off-Road SideStep Rocker Armor Full Installation & Review

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I was thinking about movement allowed by the body bolt bushings, not axle flex. Even though the movement is small it's there for a reason. The front body mount does look different than the rear 2 so maybe the connection is different. How are your sliders holding up...
