I'm running Rubi take off shocks. I know a lot of people don't care for them but they're working great for me on my 23' Sport. I even bought an extra set.

On my 23 Wrangler 2 Dr Rubi, I am running Fox Elites 2.5 External Reservoirs Double Adjustables custom valved by Accutune Off-Road with Dual Rate Clayton springs with almost a 4 inch lift and a trail weight of 5900 pounds. I am totally happy with them because they are very compliant and the Jeep handles very well.

Although, a quality shock for your particular ride is important, but the critical factor is the company/shock specialist who designs the shock valving is the critical factor and Accutune definitely know what they are doing in that regard.

My Willys came stock with the 'red' shocks. They are finally starting to leak which appears to be inevitable. I'm cheap so bought a set of Rancho RS7MT for 0" lift. $300 for all four. Gonna slap some Rubi springs on it too for a budget 2" lift. I do light trails and camp, so works for me!

23 JLU Willys XR 2.0T.

Factory XR came with a 1.5" lift. I added a 1/2" TF spacer lift all around, and 2" Synergy springs in the rear (so 2" lift total up front, 2.75" total lift rear to help compensate for loads/towing). That left minimal droop left in the factory red shocks before full extension.

I thought about the new black Rancho R7-something shocks (seems I wasn't happy with their full compressed/extension specs) so instead went with the Fox 2.0 IFP shocks for a 2-3" lift all around. So far I've been happy with them.

Shocks are so subjective. Too soft? Too stiff? Just right? I dunno....

had the 'Red' Rubicon shocks that came with the Willys initially; swapped out with the Fox Mopar'2-inch" lift.

replaced later because i felt like i wanted a firmer shock *sometimes*, and i like having the ability to 'tune' them as i like for whatever i'm doing.

Fox 2.0, including the steering stabilizer in the Through Shaft version. Much better ride than the stock XR shocks. Two of the original shocks were leaking in less than 5000 miles. Had one replaced by the dealer, when a second started leaking I replaced them all with the 2.0's. Far better shocks than anything OE. Little less than $1K total about a year and a half ago.

As a side note, I replaced the lower control arms with the Mopar 1/4" extended ones and most of the wander has disappeared. I was "shocked" that Jeep's XR package didn't already have the extended LCA's. About $100 for both.

Falcon 3.3s.
Usually medium on highway, soft on trails. So far I’m happy.
For what it’s worth, when I swapped out, 3 of 4 factory Rubicon shocks were blown out with no oil left. About 25k miles.

My kid needed a set for a 17 2 door so I recommended trying these. Not a JL but she said they ride better being the only change.

ADS 20-way adjustable shocks paired with 4.5” RK springs ride absolutely amazing. Turn them down to 1, disconnect swaybar, air down to 18 psi and it will eat up any washboard gravel road out there. Load it up with camping gear, crank them down to 20, drive 75mph in comfort and control.

Just installed some JRi adjustable bypass shocks. So far they ride so much better on the road than my previous shocks. Have not gone off road yet with them. They have a low speed and high speed adjustment. Have had Fox 2.0 on my last 2 Wranglers and wanted something else. I am on a Clayton 3.5” lift.

Man what's with the factory shocks? They all seem to leak eventually, even if you don't take offroad!

FOX 2.5 DSC’s valved by Accutune for my “trying to keep it light,” JLUR. Honestly, I have/get to drive the canyon roads in the Santa Monica mountains everyday, and these shocks are awesome. I do get off road a bit almost every week, but it’s basically fire roads, so I’m probably “over shocked”, but I love them, firm but not at all harsh.👍🏼👍🏼cheers🇺🇸
