Not a 4xe owner but as someone who was interested, the clearance between back seats folded down and roof if you have a large animal is disappointing. My GSD is too big to fit in the back without constantly being hunched down.

Agreed, that does suck. Since I never need it, I decided to ditch the rear seat and go full platform. It takes quite a bit more work than with other wranglers, but it is an option for some.

How is it costing you 4x in fuel? I call that overdramatized BS! Even with my 4xe Rubicon completely loaded for camping with a roof rack and 2 other passengers, I average 19-20 mpg on the highway in e-save.

It's actually costing me a lot more more than 4x, since I don't pay for to charge the 4xe.

But at market rates here for , it cost less than $2 to charge up for 21 miles, and $6 a gallon, I'm using 21 miles because that is what I get most of the time where and how I drive.

I get about 16 mpg city driving, I rarely do highway, but that's around 19-20 like you said.

As you're apparently in IT, this debate is pretty much Mac vs. PC or iPhone vs. Android. Some people will never change their positions, and some in the middle might try one or the other. If you are in IT, as I was, you may appreciate the EV technology, as I do. Through research and experience I figure out what the powertrain is doing and why.

In 2 years and 40,000 miles, I got 3 free oil changes, and at the same time had some recalls for seat belt retractors (that affected Ram pickups too) and software updates applied. I have not experienced any problems of it not behaving as designed.

If you look at my threads, you'll see this is not a mall crawler, either.

With it becoming obsolete it should retain it’s value better than most is a pro, possibly even becoming a collectible in time. When new EV tech becomes production (high performance solid state batteries production ~2030 per Toyota) any current EV will at that time be obsolete electronics with diminished value that you would hate. Leasing is a wise choice at this time for any electrified vehicle.

Possibly, if produced for replacement applications and suitable for the existing systems. But if so will it be cost effective ?

I only clarified the “dead battery” because everyone seems to love the extra torque and power and I just didn’t feel it. just felt heavy to me, and lacked the driving characteristics I loved in my old JKU and current JL. Some like that heavy feel, but I’m not one of them.

I’m not making anything up. I just didn’t like the way it drives. I figured it was because there was no electric charge on it because it said 0% every time I drove my friends (he’s very bad about charging it), but apparently I just don’t like it.

I was just sharing my opinion on the different driving characteristics. Had no complaints otherwise, but it didn’t feel anything like my current JL, JLU’s I’ve test driven, my old JKU, or my buddy’s TJ. To me, it was a difference I didn’t like.
