Has anyone had this issue with their wireless Warn remote? I have a Warn EVO VR 8S and, whenever I press the unspool button on the wireless remote, the line unspools for only an instant and the remote turns off by itself, making it unusable. I found this out the first time I had to use the winch (I was very stuck), fortunately I had the cord to attach the remote to the winch, otherwise it would have been a huge problem.
I reached out to Warn and they said they are not aware of a reason why the remote would turn off by itself and asked me to reach out if it happened again. Now I can reproduce consistently and I shared the video with them. I am curious to see what they say, but this made me lose trust in the Warn brand.
I opened the remote and checked the voltage on the internal battery and it's good (3.6V).

I have what looks like the same controller, and inside is a pair of AAA batteries. Not sure how one could get 3.6V out of a pair of 1.5V batteries... When you opened yours was it not AAAs?

I'm pretty suspicious of the wireless capability. The batteries in mine seem to die right away. And what a PITA to get to them. Not a good design

I think some of the controllers have AAA batteries, while others, like mine, have an internal 3.6V AA battery called ER14505, which is difficult to access and replace, but it's supposed to last for years.

Fascinating! So it's not rechargeable, just an odd type disposable battery?

The Evo wireless remote is different from my Zeon version; here's what mine looks like:

The remotes all got recalled last year - did you submit a claim form to Warn and get a replacement remote in the mail yet?
