Hi
Five days in, first time in the rain, and as soon as I parked, I saw the steam coming out mostly on the driver's side.
Is this normal?
The engine temperature is normal, and the smell is like water hitting the engine block, but is this normal?

I don't have one but I'd be willing to bet some water made it's way onto the exhaust manifold, that's all. It's probably happening all of the time when it's wet out but driving over idle speed would blow it away and you'd never see it.

Looks 100% normal to me. Exactly what mine (3.6 not 392) looked like yesterday when we got severe thunderstorms and lots of flash flooding. I could see lots of steam every time I hit a lot of standing water.

Its normal. Mine does that in the rain and when I go through a car wash. Its just water hitting the engine and steaming off.

Totally normal, I get it at the touchless carwash all the time.

Remember you have the hydro guide so any water the gets in your hood scoop falls out the flaps and drips on your manifold area.

I figured its normal but with my previous 2021 Rubicon it never happened, nor with my JKU.
Thanks!

Mine did that when the exhaust was breaking in, normal. Hasn't done it since, in recent rains even.

Update. Not what I/you expected...

I opened the hood to install hood struts and saw coolant fluid splatter all over the hose connection and engine. I sent a pic to the dealer, who asked me to rush to service. Turns out the reservoir has a hairline crack in it. Part ordered, will be replaced on Tuesday. I was bummed about not taking it off-road yesterday more than the problem itself, but all in all, it's better I discovered it 5 miles from the service center and not 100 miles into the woods. It happens, and I'm not too upset about it. Hopefully, nothing else down the road.

Good thing you popped that hood, OP. Those struts may have kept you from accidentally running it out of coolant. ?

Good catch.

BTW, the Redline hood struts are awesome.
Yup, those are the ones. Funny how the advertisement says "no drilling" but forgot to mention "need to cut into a bracket".
