Hey all, it's been I'm 3 years owning this Gladiator which I absolutely love. My wife has a 2020 Wrangler and I do get jealous when we take that out.
The Gladiator is essentially paid for and I'm looking around at wranglers again. I found a recon in the right color and every option, plus some on it. Now, I'm trying to decide if I want to go back to a wrangler or keep my trouble free gladi.

Over the yearI've e always had a jeep or a truck or both. I don't have The same needs for a truck as I once had. And I have a good 5 by 10 trailer. It's mostly at a convenience that I use the truck bed. Picking up small stuff, I don't tow anything major anymore, at least nothing the Wrangler couldn't handle.

Has anyone on the forum gone from a Wrangler to a Gladiator and back? It's not like I'm a heavy off roader, i do beach fish. I picked up a soft cap for the truck and that is what kinda ot me thinking about going back.

Its mostly for commuting and I just like jeeps.

I made the second part - I drove an '06 GMC Sierra since ... 2006 ... before I got my Wrangler in 2021.

I can't imagine why I'd go back to a truck, TBH. However, over those ~15 years, I could count on one hand the number of times I towed anything, and I had a bed cover on 95% of the time, so I was really only ever using the front ~40% of the truck for the vast majority of the time.

Having driven the Wrangler for 2 years, I won't go back. I *did* get the tow package on my Wrangler, primarily for the AUX switches, but I have used it a few times, all of which I just rented a small trailer from the local Home Depot.

On the contrary, having the contained back part of the Wrangler has been immensely helpful. I've slept back there a few times, and it gives me additional secure storage that I never had in the truck.

Based on your post, I think you'd be fine.

I have gone from Wrangler to Gladiator and back a couple of times - during the time when used vehicle prices were crazy good that helped me trade in without losing much.

From daily driving perspective:
The best Gladiator I had - Mojave
Best Wrangler I had/have: XR

I am an impulsive guy and get tired of the same soon.

I bought my gladiator before the run up and that is the other thought in my head. I can get almost what I paid for it.

I'm the same way I always have my cover on, I mostly haul my golf clubs.

If you are buying a 24 Willys or Rubicon, do it if you don't need the truck bed.
I still refuse to live with 3.45s and the M186 no matter what. The new Willys would have my $ if I don't use the truck bed constantly.

If you are financing I would hold onto the Gladiator until interest rates are reasonable again. In the meantime if you get the itch, tell the Mrs. that you are taking her Jeep out to put some gas in it and joyride it between home and the gas station.

This is the crux of the matter, right here. It's no small thing to own a trouble-free JL-generation Wrangler or Gladiator. The truck's replacement might be a jewel. There's also the potential for it to be a turd, which puts you at the tender mercies of the CDJR dealer network and their service departments.

In your position, I'd keep my powder dry by keeping the Gladiator. That there's already a Wrangler sharing garage space with it means this isn't a critical or time-sensitive issue.

I recently switched from a wrangler to a gladiator after owning 5 wranglers previously. It’s different, but I like it. I also prefer the 3.6 over the 2.0, but that’s personal preference. No payment, no problems, you already have a wrangler in the family, seems like an easy answer to me.

I really don't core for the new 24s, I don't like grill or the new radio.. maybe my feelings will change in time but my thought was to get into a 21 or 22 now before I'm forced into a 24. I just hit 50k miles and figured if I was going to change, change now.

Since your current Gladiator is essentially paid for, why not get whatever Wrangler you want and try it out for a while to make sure you are 100% certain which one you want to keep and let the other one go with no regrets.

Best of luck bro.
