Noco 10 = High Quality ?

I would amend that to say Noco 10 = Good ValueNoco 10 = High Quality ?
From what I have heard/read..... flooded battery settings on a tender/maintainer/charger, typically overcharge AGM batteries.Doh! AGM setting. Wonder what happens if you haven’t used that setting for charging. I guess I will find out since I haven’t..
I got the “aux switches” message and used a Noco genius 10 a couple times which didn’t clear the message. then I disconnected the battery and did repair mode last time and the message hasn’t come back. From what I have heard/read..... flooded battery settings on a tender/maintainer/charger, typically overcharge AGM batteries.
Depending on the flooded battery charging profile on the tender/maintainer/charger you used, your AGM battery could possibly have taken a slight hit to a big hit in regard to it's overall life expectancy.
I myself do not use a maintainer/tender's repair mode for AGM batteries.I got the “aux switches” message and used a Noco genius 10 a couple times which didn’t clear the message. then I disconnected the battery and did repair mode last time and the message hasn’t come back.
So reading through this, for the Noco 10 what setting is for trickle charge? 2022 with 1600 miles so thinking I may need this.
I bypassed the Aux on my JL over 4 years ago (2/19) before it was heard of/fashionable to do, like it is now a days....Since I deleted the Aux, and now reading these, I'm wondering at what point do you all think a charger is needed? What do you consider bare minimum use before you begin to consider putting it on a maintainer?
That meter set up is cool. I like it!IF you do lots of short trips, lots of ignition and off's and little driving, you open and close the parked JL's doors often and wake up UConnect lots, etc., then you will want to consider using a battery tender/maintainer.. That's running with both Main and Aux of with Main only in play..
Short answer yes.Does it make sense to keep my Jeep on a trickle charger between starts? My daily trips are less than 10 miles and I usually get to where I'm going in less than 15 minutes. I have a motorcycle on a trickle charger and all has been good for 4 years. I just don't know about the pros/cons of a charger on the JL. Any help would be appreciated.
Why do you say:Short answer yes.
Long answer:
You will hear many anecdotal ideas what to do
This has worked perfect for us over the past 20 years
2 CTEK smart chargers + 4 NOCO smart chargers
Used on 6 different 12V batteries load tested
Oldest original battery around 10 yo - still fine
JL batteries OEM 5 yo - still fine especially the tiny aux
Do not charge different amp-hr batteries in parallel
Never allow your battery to ever fully discharge to zero
Since it will then kill your other JL battery in parallel
NOCO 5 is fine to use on the tiny aux
NOCO 7.2 or newer version 10 is fine to use on the main
Smart charge each battery separately as described
Regularly NOCO repair each of your AGMs separately
Have done this for years extending battery life
Just finished a 2000mi road trip in the JL
Batteries were perfect - SS always works after 1 min
Comprehensively research all this - then you do you
If you hook up as prescribed - expect no problems
My OEM main is slightly weaker than my OEM aux
JL forum is overall good - but some posts are BS
Especially to do with the 5 yr JL corrosion warranty
Battery comments by OGNJ however - seem spot on

Yeah this has beaten to death in this forumWhy do you say:
"Do not charge different amp-hr batteries in parallel"
I was under the impression that if you did, it would just take longer to fully charge each one, but would not cause any harm.
I keep a lead permanently attached to the main battery and just plug in the charger when necessary... I haven't had any issues so far.
Maybe you can explain ?
Im with you... best to go off of manufacturer/self experience.Yeah this has beaten to death in this forum
All battery companies do not recommend that
But many on this forum have their own opinions and believe this to be ok
In my personal experience - which I prefer - all my batteries last a very long time
So I do what I do
If you research this extensively you will come to own conclusion as well
Many here report dead OEM JL batteries - often multiple replacements
Me - zero - no problems - nothing
Hmm?
Anyways OGNJ and a few smart others have researched this with manufacturers
Coming to the same conclusions as posted
Hope this helps
