People paint/plasti-dip their tow hooks all the time. Make yours whatever color you like. I don't think anybody is going to think you're a poser because of the color of your hooks.

Who cares what the "Jeep Community" thinks?! Do what you want. Honestly I would not have even known Gold/Bronze tow hooks came on the 392. I've never paid attention lol...

It's your Jeep. You do you and don't give 2 f@@cks what others think. Other than the angry grille. ;)
Agreed, but I too would still judge anyone with an Angry Grille!!! ;)

bingo.
all the stupid red stuff inside and out was a factor in keeping me out of a Rubicon, and i would have paid extra to make it go away. but i didn't want to go through the hassle of dealing with it all myself.

OP:
back to topic; do what you want. it's your J**p.
there's nothing any of us could do that everyone else would like anyway.

Jeep should offer a blackout package, separate from color. I'd have easily gone Rubicon instead of Sahara if I could've paid ~$300 for a blackout kit. They have the parts, take our money.

I'd have paid $300 to get rid of the red dash/stitching alone TBH.

I don’t see hooks color as being model specific other than thinking that red hooks on a non-Rubicon makes it look like the owner bought a Rubi take-off bumper or hooks.

Except maybe on a red Jeep where I see it as the owner did body color tow hooks.

Do the color you like?

Probably wouldn't cost too much for a body shop to paint match them. Or powder coater if you wanted to go that route.

Jeeps signify freedom and community. Do what makes you happy and you’ll still be part of the Jeep community. We don’t even cancel people for angry eye grills! If you own a Jeep, you’re in and that card can’t be revoked.

You and me both!

(OK, I've yet to actually order, but you get the point) ;)

Wait.

You drive a metallic purple Jeep and you’re worried that people will question the color of your tow hooks?

The only thing reliably frowned upon in this forum is the frowny aftermarket grill. Otherwise, what you like best for your Wrangler is the correct answer. ?
and slapping Rubicon stickers on a sport

Aww. It's not metallic purple, or "Reign." It's dark maroon metallic. I think it's a pretty classy color, despite the gawd-awful name. Personally, I would have called it "Dragonsblood"... but they never asked me.

Hey, thanks y'all!! I definitely got the answer I was hoping for -- basically, most Jeepers won't care, do whatever the hell I want to, don't put a 392 label on the body, and have fun with MY JEEP!!
Thanks all, this is a great forum. I appreciate each and every answer... even the guy who thought Snazzberry was "purple!" ?
And I'm so grateful to have a gunmetal grey dash instead of a red one!? But power to those who do, and like it?

I see no issue whatsoever with putting gold tow hooks on your jeep. What does annoy me is when I see an obviously-V6 or I-4 Mustang with all the stickers and paint scheme to make it look like a Shelby. Like, dude who are you trying to fool? She’s gonna find out you’re broke quickly enough anyway.
