Touchless carwash leaks - normal?

We've taken both of ours through a local high-pressure spray wash a couple of times. The wife's '20 MAY have a couple of drops come in in various places, but literally just a couple. None in my '21.

Since the 1980's I've always used something like Sonax rubber protectant on door gaskets, learned that on the Nissan 280 Z's T tops. With all the gaskets on the JL and the hard top I have been using this regularly and no leaks (so far). It keeps them soft but also lets them move and not bind/wrinkle.

I've had many models of Jeeps, and they all leaked somewhere when going through any type of pressure car wash. The angle of the spray, pressure, and hitting those rubber seals just right are all culprits. I'd roll with it, and carry a towel when you go since there is no solution preventing the occasional perfectly aimed spray.

I never thought about that - I'm running Rugged Ridge sill guards.

I have those sill guards and have no leaks.

Mine does the same and a bit around the tailgate. Nothing horrible but a bit annoying.

exactly. Just annoying. It is not worth asking the dealer to fix it because they will take it for 4 days and say its fixed....then when I pick it up they'll likely say they didn't have the parts and they would have to order them and they wouldn't arrive until January....2026

Yep mine leaks exactly on those two spots when I use touchless pressure washes

same spot here. i did tighten the hard top bolts some as they weren't that snug. i also ran some 1/4' weather strip along the back door to help.

i avoid the touchless with such high pressure direct spray and use a different one and no leaks since.

So it is not the hard top to body. Apparently it is that corner of the hardtop. They put a little silicon in that hole, will take pics. The other response was, don't go through a car wash. Yeah... ok.

Silicon as a "fix" may work until it gets cold out. Unless I don't understand how silicon works in hot vs cold ?
