No need to justify why you want something different. Life is short, drive what makes you happy…and there are no rules which say you must love and keep vehicle forever.

I’m done with Stellantis products myself. Kinda feel like my best Jeeping days already happened, and opting for a JL after my previous Jeeps was probably a mistake. The culture has really changed, places like Moab aren’t the same. Maybe I’ll find the spark again or maybe I won’t.

Maybe get the new Hummer EV, then you will be able to "PUSH THE BUTTON". For 100G, you'll get a vehicle that can "Crabwalk" which is a feature that I've not found a must have use case for..... but then I know how to parallel park.

I’ve had Jeeps for years (and before them IH Scouts). I have become ever more disenchanted as Jeeps have grown larger and more complex, while becoming more difficult to DIY repair. Medicore build quality, poor ride, and laughable “service” at dealerships combined with ludicrous pricing have taken the shine off the Apple. Buddy got a new Land Cruiser and frankly it’s nicer than anything Jeephas ever thrown together. I’m not into extreme rock crawling which is perhaps the only area Jeep will outperform the LC. It’s quieter, rides a Lot better, is much better built and has an actual dealer network that services them. Dunno if I’ll jump just yet or not but if I trade the JL off, I’m 99% sure it’ll NOT be for another Jeep

They average $65k, I would hope they are nicer than a $40k Wrangler. But this is not an apples to apples comparison. And modern Toyotas are not without their issues as well. I would be interested to see his repair bills outside of warranty.

Well , if 35 years and 300,000 miles don’t make me a “Jeep person” I doubt there are many out there. Stellantis (and Fiat) have milked the old cow dry, sent the prices through the roof while sacrificing build quality. My JL has had more niggling problems than my old TJ’s Ever had. I would buy a new TJ today. A new JL? Don’t think so. Dunno about an LC but I was impressed with my friends. Maybe if I drive my JL for another 5 years and have 40 years behind a Jeep wheel I’ll be a “Jeep person”

I said you once were but aren't anymore, are you denying this? You've made it pretty clear that you aren't happy anymore but obviously you were in the past so my statement stands.

A jeep is not perfect but then no vehicle ever is in today's world, we as consumers have asked for all the creature comforts to be installed in vehicles and with our demands and a companies need to increase profits it all comes at a cost. My 2018 is paid for and has been for several years, I have almost 90k miles on it and its my daily driver and I have “ knock on wood” not had any serious problems, is it loud YES, does it ride like a luxury vehicle NO but I knew what I was getttig into when I purchased it.

I say drive what makes you happy and just remember any vehicle wont last forever.

I'll bet your cellphone has more updates, more glitches, and more battery issues these days than your vinyl record player, 35mm film camera, and rotary dial phone had too. My guess also is that your JL has better safety features, better fuel efficiency, and better comfort options than your TJ had as well. If you want more roses you have to put up with the probability of more thorns. Why you feel inclined to make a forum post about leaving Jeep is a little odd. If you are thinking that by doing so Carlos Tavares is going to call you with an apology and a coupon to buy a RAV4, don't hold your breath. Not because you aren't special but because he just resigned.

Whoa...just hold up a minute. There is no need to start bad mouthing vinyl records. Best sounding audio ever with the right turntable and stylus. Certainly not as convenient as digital tracks...but way better sound.

Yeah you don't recall to replace 100s of thousands of engines and transmissions then get to brag about quality but you'd be amazed how many "normal" people have no clue and think Toyota/Honda can do no wrong. The "normies" don't matter to me personally. I don't care what car you buy as long as I don't have to make the payments. I will silently judge you for your poor choice but I'll tell you what you want to hear if you decide to talk to me about it.

Any of you guys see the new Quadratec catalog? Mine came today. It’s got a killer 2dr JT on the cover. I’d buy that bad boy TODAY if it was available to us mere mortals. Jeep, please check this out and give us an option!

I was just looking in the ads to see what’s there I can’t live without?, anyway I looked at the Jeeps for sale section-man there are some really nice nearly new rigs on there! I continue to be amazed at the folks who buy Jeeps and then move on after just a few miles. I’m guessing it’s still the issue of folks liking the look and image but not enjoying the rig so much. A shame really.

So, the woman (mid 40’s, RN) who lives down the road traded her Range Rover on a new JLU with a dealer installed lift and very aggressive 35’s a couple weeks ago. She says “ I know you’ve had Jeeps for a long time, do you like the way they drive?”. I say “ Yeah, I’ve driven them for years. I like them a lot because of their go anywhere ability and how easy they are to drive”.

100%! I'm collecting 35mm cameras and shooting film occasionally, and 35mm market is growing recently. There's a reason why modern digital camera manufacturers spend millions trying to emulate 35mm film look via software

I too am giving serious thought about change but I’m not especially optimistic that the competition is better built or more reliable. My Jl is nearly five years old and it’s had plenty of issues, more than any car I’ve ever purchased new. I don’t want another Jeep…but not sure what else won’t also have problems. Complexity is the enemy of reliability….and all new vehicles are complex.

I'm not quite ready to give up on Jeep, but that is now mostly because I'm part of a great Jeep offroad club.

But, I actually am happy when people depart Jeep for other brands. Why? Because it's clear that Jeep will only improve the Wrangler kicking and screaming if they see defections to the competition. They see us as captive customers that will continue to buy no matter how crappy the dealer service is, no matter how outdated the platform gets, no matter how much they raise the prices. And Jeep is right. The Bronco launched 35" and 37" tires, and Jeep rushes to release a half baked XR35 with massive bump stops and no uptravel. Let more people defect, and maybe they'll throw us another bone.

I’d encourage you to try a different brand, then you’ll know which one you like better.

I’ve never asked others when I wanted to change my ride. I do research and comparisons and be clear about what I want.
