You explicitly said you've got a 2,600 pound boat to tow. That takes the 2-door out of the picture, simplifying your choices.
Ditch the boat and get a 2 door

I have to agree and we all know the two best days of boat ownership are the day you buy it and the day you sell it.
"Oh but im gonna see sooooo many chicks in bikinis with the boat"

I really enjoy driving my 2dr. I'm retired, and have other vehicles, so it's not a dd. I've set it up with a mild lift, gears, diff changes, modest tires, but honestly, it doesn't see much off-roading (I think I just wanted a project ?).
I'm traditionally a manual guy, but old knees dictated an auto, which has turned out to be a great trans!
However, having spent 3 or so years on this forum, I wouldn't even consider a JL manual unless I had plans to immediately install a CF or ACT clutch.
Get the Jeep! You'll have more fun!

Another good reason to not own a Jeep and a Boat cause you can only have one that beats you up over your paycheck every week.

It's kind of like when you have a nice car, the only people that ever tell you you have a nice car are other dudes. Same thing with a boat.

I'm often occupied, by many things, often at the same time
I had a TJ, a JLR(2-door) and bought another JLR.

If you want a JL, buy a 2-door JLR with manual transmission and 4.88 gearing. It's the right choice.

I mean if you want to start ownership with issues sure.

Also, not sure how the Trax becomes a solution. The Chevy Trax has a max towing capacity of 1,263 pounds
