Really happy with the LOD bumper/tire carrier. Waited several months for the release and glad I did.
We are glad that you chose a stout construction over something that just attaches to the stock thin sheet metal hinges and just adds extra weight ;):like: We spent a great deal of time to make it sturdy yet simple. It is on the heavier side, but lots of items/accessories one can mount definitely makes up for that, as well as the newly developed camera system. And it is definitely safe, we've seen people with our bumpers get rear ended (and rear end people ) at speeds that totaled the other car and drive home, after dusting off their bumper :cwl::devil::giggle:

We have created a license plate relocation bracket that goes in the center of the wheel also! We will be releasing it shortly.

Ace engineering is coming out with a tire carrier very soon. This looks beefy. Can’t wait for them to release more info.
Does anyone know when Ace is going to release this?

Not sure if it’s been tested yet with the sensors or not but if you look at how tight it is up against the gate compared to the stock location, that 3 inches of savings is a lot. This will allow more room to avoid sensor interference. For this reason, I like the EVO carrier but I don’t like that it is limited to a 37” tire.

Does anyone know if it was tested to work with the reverse sensors? Some of us that have the LOD rear bumper/tire carrier are experiencing issues with our sensors continually going off when in reverse.

I’m waiting to see more info on this too. I bet it will be after SEMA before we see the finished products from ACE and ROAM.

This looks pretty stout though.

Yea, it does. @ACE Engineering @lodoffroad and @ROAM makes some pretty solid gear. I'm still debating the route I want to go on a carrier, rear bumper, etc. What I do know is that, besides tire mounting, I want camera integration, license plate relocation, Accessory mounting options (mainly for Rotopax) and 3rd break light integration. Right now, LoD fits the bill but is pushing $2000 with all options. I may very well go that way but I want to see all other options first.

I also like Genright's tire carrier. That thing is sweet lookin'

This is what we learned with the JKs. Teraflex was the first and their design followed by others kept the tire as close to the gate as possible. This improves departure angles, reduces chance of vibration and limits leverage on the tailgate. EVO, pending further review, is a contender for what’s going on my 19.

They address both and are waiting for their install instructions to get the details.

We would like to add that you will find the solidity, convenience, and protection our design offers will pay for itself quickly. This may not be the case with something that just mounts to the stock body or hinge structure and adds weight and stress in a place that was not necessarily designed to handle such, especially when carrying a 35+ inch tire. Something that mounts to the frame will hold it far more securely than something that mounts to the body sheet metal which is probably 14-16 gauge and about (3?) layers thick. Not saying it won't work, but it may be risky :time:

However we have found from our research, that the JL frame is actually softer than the JK

Yea I agree that a bumper mounted solution would be best and you guys have shown that you really think your designs through. It's just a big bullet to bite when I'm also trying to buy a front bumper, winch, CB, tent, left lung, leather seat covers, soft top, sanity, LED headlights, LED fog lamps, retirement fund, light bar, etc., etc., etc., etc,. etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,

I am with Beavis. Crazy for me how I have found either to buy or put on the list just about every mod I want. Front, rear bumpers and tire carrier solution have eluded me. There just isn’t a perfect solution for me. LOD is close but cost and the bumper sensor is a deal breaker. Other companies are missing other options that I want or the looks are off or the quality of finish sucks etc etc etc etc.

Maybe I just need to keep the stock bumpers, mount the winch in there and just do the dumb Mopar tire reenforcement.
