So I just got back from the dealership. Couple of things, in 2021 you can’t get a hardtop on a sport or sport s. He didn’t want that but I thought it was interesting. There is a 80th anniversary package that costs about $9k that loads it up.

I think he’s probably going with a sport s with the 23S package. Adding the anti spin diff and the tech group which gives him the 7” screen. Also included is the destination fee of $1495, red paint fee of $245 and soft top window storage bag of $75. Comes out to $34,600 MSRP and the invoice was $33k and some change.

Hoping to get 5% under invoice which is about $32k. Does all this sound reasonable?
What's the anniversary edition look like?

My daughter (19) learnt to drive with my basic Sport S and drive it for a year and loved it. So I don't think you need all the bells and whistles. She even bought her own new car this past March (Chevy Spark) and didn't want all the bells and whistles, just the hands free options with the radio and phone. Yeah, I know, Spark:facepalm: I tried steering her to Jeep, but she was scared to pay that much (18k vs 32k). At least she was thinking ahead of her payments:like:
Edit: only thing I would add would be anything but the 5"!
Agreed! The 5 inch Uconnect is a joke.

They didn’t have a pic, just the order sheet. On paper it “looked” a lot like a Sahara. Lots of options.

Will have had mine for a month this Tuesday. Loving every moment behind the wheel - on road and off. Only have had a chance for two light back road runs through the spring mountains, but have a trip to Sedona in a few weeks and plan an a run up Shnebly Hill trail among others.

I understand you're on a budget, but I found my 2020 Rubicon for $38k, there were 2 at that particular dealership. (Raleigh, NC)

I thought the 7” screen was now standard for 2021. Agree that the hardtop availability doesn’t sound right. FWIW I have no issues with the 5” screen but apparently I’m in the minority

Going to start the order process for a 2-door sport for my oldest son tomorrow. This is his first vehicle that he’s going to pay for.

Any advice from you guys?
I'm not sure if you're adding the LSD because you want the dana 44 in the rear or if you want the extra traction, but FYI if you get the manual transmission then the dana 44 is standard. I don't know if your son knows how to drive manual but if he does then that's an instant free beefier axle in the rear! I was pretty happy to know my manual Sport has the 44 in the rear even though I don't have the LSD, so just figured I'd pass the info along :)

He works in the woods so the traction is important. He doesn’t know how to drive a manual but when he found out how much the auto costs he decided he would learn. Haha
