@EJ3CTA

The OBDll port itself is very easy to move up and out of sight if you want. Just be sure to put OBDll port back in stock position before service department visit.
That is a good idea. First time Wrangler owner. I'm still trying to get used to having a vehicle that is meant to be taken apart. hahaha

I posted in another forum, but auto down and up windows please (Wife's Trail Edition 4Runner has me spoiled)...
On the first ride in the JL wife noticed the auto window up missing this is the only complaint (other that me taking the doors off) I could justify to her the real need for this part

For $329 it needs to unlock NAV in motion (so passenger can enter destination while moving).
It does, as long as you leave it plugged in to OBD port

snipe:
Got my Tazer last week. Very easy to install...I read the stories of people struggling to plug it in, or remove the existing wiring harness. It was actually REALLY easy. I had it installed in 10 minutes.
Early on, guys were trying/were installing the SWG bypass module without removing the kick panel under the steering column. Sure, this can be done, but what a pain in everything/the ass, lets say.

Anyway, indeed the physical install of the TazerJL and the companion SWG bypass module hardware is easy, easy if you remove the kick panel. The panel itself comes off easily and goes back on easily. The panels clips are quite hardy, so as long as you don't "man handle it" you will not break any clips.

Do use a plastic tool so you do not marr the plastic panel.

I removed my plastic panel with zero tools and about 3 seconds of my time. It's very simple.

Let's say I unmarry the Tazer and remove it and also remove the Security module. Does the speedometer setting return to stock? So if I roll into the dealership to get this cruise control recall update performed, I'm going in with an odometer that doesn't count correctly? This could be a problem.

Undoubtedly, there will be less stress on panel/clips (less chance of doing damage) if you use a plastic pry tool in the removal process.

You will absolutely, want to unmarry and remove the TazerJL and the companion SWG bypass module. Do this and your JL will be back as it was before you installed/married the TazerJL.

NEVER, GIVE YOUR JL TO THE DEALERSHIP, SERVICE DEPARTMENT, UNLESS YOU HAVE UNMARRIED THE TAZERJL AND REMOVED BOTH TAZERLJL AND THE COMPANION, SWG BYPASS MODULE.

NEVER ADMIT/VOLUNTEER TO ANY DEALERSHIP EMPLOYEE YOU HAVE USED A PROGRAMMER.

I'm not sure that's the case. I own a trim tool. But I purposefully didn't use it because prying with a trim tool on this piece would put horizontal and vertical stress on the clips, and those clips are plastic. Not good. By using your fingers you can pull straight out which will preserve the life of the clips. And it's literally a 3 second job.

I still wonder if NOT having a programmer to adjust the odometer for those large tires will be just as bad when we roll into the dealerships asking for warranty work.

Went in this morning for the U62 recall, PCM flash. Tech had the vehicle for no more then 15 minutes. He drove the JL out of the work bay and came over to me and said geeeeeeeeez, you got one nice Wrangler.. He also said he I did a "PCM Flash" .
No mention of anything in regard to smelling the odor or footprints of a programmer, etc.. Also, no typed info on printed service report indicating anything programmer trail wise noted.

YES, Yesterday, I unmarried the TazerJL and removed the TazerJL and SWG bypass module in anticipation of the dealership service dept. visit.

Just now reinstalled the TazerJL and the SWG bypass module. Remarried the TazerJL to the JL and all my settings were instantly and with no redoing of settings. Whole process took me less then 10 min..

I still feel it is easier to use a plastic pry tool to pop the two top retention clips and then to pull the bottom plastic straight off. The plastic goes back on easily and within seconds.

Note: If anything is a very slight pain in the ass it is getting the 2 cables plugged back into the JL's connector after you remove the SWG bypass module. Good lighting and a body that can contort like a 26 year old (I'm 69) is useful in this process. Again, just a slight pain...

For those who are wanting to keep the "Live" features, the Tazer needs to stay plugged into the OBDII port....this makes that a little easier by allowing it to be tucked up out the way or even Velcro'd to the back of the kick panel.

I'm going in for the cruise control recall and I'm not looking forward to having to mess with the connectors again. I have big hands and had a hell of a time getting those connectors out. But, I'm happy to hear that setting are restored once you marry the Tazer to the Jeep again!

I do agree with you. Using a pry tool made the removal of the kick panel a breeze.

Now, that is a useful post you just made in regard to this extender. Personally, I have no issues with the TazerJl residing in the OBDll port all the time as I never hit it with my leg, etc.. BUT, would be nice to move the TazerJl it up out of prying eyes. Sure you can easily move the OBDll port up a bit but geeeez, I'd rather use an extender like the one you mentioned..

This extender will be a hit with guys with doors off lots. Will keep nitwits from reaching in and grabbing the little gizmo they see plugged into the OBDll post..

@joe@zauto Will there be a way to have multiple DRL locations enabled. Such as enabling the halo on the LED lights and the turn signal for DRL at the same time?
