@Shak14 what BT OBD module did you go with, cables are all pretty much the same, I have a few different ones I use to test different apps I can use with them.

OBDLINK+ is the Grandaddy as most apps work with it but even the $25 ones work well to the just they are not as fast and the fancier apps don’t work with them but hey JSCAN is really a good app.

I got the Vgate iCar Pro. I read that others had success with it.

Got any good tips on using the JScan app? I’ll be adding Rubicon flares w/LEDs to my Sport S w/factory halogen.

My suggestion is to start with the simple stuff like TPMS pressures, tire size, LED options and go from there, be careful on some things as the descriptions of what some things do are vague. I’ve been playing around with the IBS settings for my dual battery charging.

Kind of all I need to do for now. It looks like the LED turn signal and DRL settings are pretty straight forward

most settings are pretty straight forward but some things like the IBS section can get you into trouble as it directs the IBS how to regulate the charge to the batteries

If someone was to make a mistake or bad change what is the worst case? is everything reversible and worst case you are towing to a dealer to rest everything?

Yes everything is reversible and unlike other programmers if you choose not to put your changes back to their original settings before a dealer visit and the dealer flashes the ECU with updates all you have to do is go back in and make changes.

Now if you do something and it leaves you stranded ( highly unlikely ) and it has to be towed to the dealer there is a possibly they could track changes made but I seriously doubt they would look that hard and honestly 99% of the things that JSCAN does are pretty safe.

I have played with tire sizes, TPMS settings, IBS settings and a few other settings but a good rule is if you don’t know what you are changing then don’t change it until you find out what it does.

Ok, what are the settings on the JScan to make the DRLs work properly. Right now I only have the amber portion of the signal working. I want the white LED only for DRL.

I would try DRL lamp location, I currently only have LED headlamps and it was a bulb switch that did not require any changes using JSCAN

Sir, while I don't have the foggiest idea, I'm to understand that you'll run into your share of product specialists at Jscan's Facebook page if @WranglerMan words of wisdom above haven't taken you far enough on your quest. :)

Turns out the fenders I bought (knock-offs) came with sequential turn signals. No matter the JScan setting, it kept tripping the light out sensor. I added resistors I had laying around and fixed the issue. Thanks for all the help.

Just ordered a Tazer Mini, don't know, the Jscan feels messy to me.
Key feature I want is to keep Start-Stop off
Both Tazer and JSCAN are excellent one just has to decide what features they want, I’ve had both and for my needs JSCAN fits the bill for features and cost, I ran a Tazer two piece for almost two years and it did what it was supposed to do but I just got tired of dealer with the process of putting it in and out even though my connectors are so easy to unplug.

@WranglerMan Will: I feel like I may have mentioned this before, but would the SGW extension cord https://www.zautomotive.com/product/sgw-extension-cable/ not make life easier for you as it regards decoupling and coupling the Tazer between dealer visits?

@RubiconIsland Ben: Wow, talk about the perfect place to have a Wrangler! The Canary Islands seem to have been designed for the Wrangler (or perhaps I should say it the other way around!)

Clearly, if turning off ESS was your primary objective in purchasing tech to do so, without question, between the Jscan and Tazer products, the Tazer *must* be the way to go, as such functionality isn't supported by the Jscan device, nor--without a change in how it works--will it likely be.

This is not support for one product over the other. The two products seem to have overlapping features as well as ones unique to each. I have the Jscan because it excels at aftermarket installation (along with hardware) of proximity locks.

Both devices are good at gaining access to JL/LT circuitry, often not accessible via the dash, especially that which is both programmable and that remembers its state from one cold crank to the next. Where the Tazer excels is at the addition as well of Live Functions, that is when it's connected to the rig.

In such situations the Tazer JL can act as the software equivalent of, well, your finger and eyes. It can reach switches that are both dash and non-dash accessible, determine their state (a state often not retained between cold cranks,) and turn things on and off as needed (even every few seconds) like you pressing a button...

...whether that's ESS--which is one button press at crank, the light show--which is turning on and off certain lights with repetition, or turning the factory backup camera on continually.

By way of better understanding, the factory camera, for example, and as you may know, can be turned on, by factory default, for a couple of seconds, when the vehicle is otherwise on and not in reverse. I'm to understand that the Tazer keeps it on by performing, every few seconds, the software equivalent of pressing the rear camera on button. This is the kind of stuff that the Jscan doesn't do.

With either device, connection is much easier with the purchase of the extension cable at the top of my post. This cable is NOT a replacement for the 12 + 8 cable also needed to run the Jscan.

If you're willing to wait, you can probably order a sample cable here at less cost:
