Anyone have any issues with the turn cam feature? I have a 2024JLU Rubicon X and Tazer turn cam has been buggy since I’ve purchased it nine months ago. Have done several reboots and latest software update is as of May 2024 and Tazer is updated. I did a trip and turncam kept freezing and would not allow me to see my Google Maps on my screen. Very frustrating as I have to stop the car and turn it off to get the turn cam to unfreeze from the screen. No amount of button pushing unfreezes the turn cam rear camera on the screen. Out of frustration I just turned the turn cam feature off. I’ve also called their/Z automotive tech-support line and they have no solutions. Thoughts? Thanks.

I made a couple of mistakes Initially. I have OEM front and rear cameras, and when going through the menu to add turn cam when it asked if I wanted to enable the front camera I answered yes which is only for adding the Tazer front camera. Next I had turn cam and the ability to do in motion navigation active at the same time. Instructions advised to choose one or the other. As soon as I turned off in motion nav the turn cam worked fine. Just in case you didn’t read the instructions carefully like I didn’t. 🤷

Thanks. I did turn (in motion) that off and am still having the issues.

Also, the turn cam will still get stuck, even though I don’t have any Google Maps running at that time. I wish there was some pattern to it locking up, then it would make diagnosing issues so much easier. But it’s so sporadic that I’m at a loss.

Try unmarrying the Tazer, rebooting and then doing 2 full sleep cycles. Walk away from the vehicle for about 5 minutes in between each sleep cycle.

Now go back and re-marry the Tazer. Again, reboot and do 2 full sleep cycles walking away from the vehicle for about 5 minutes in between each cycle.

2024 here; I have a similar Tazer issue with cameras and my uconnect screen locking up.
Note: My Tazer works great for everything else.

For example, if I use the Tazer feature "double click mute" to bring up my cameras, my screen will sometimes become unresponsive to touch input. This persists until I reboot uconnect or turn off/on the Jeep.
There are multiple other ways to get to the cameras, so I just don't bother using that feature anymore.
I haven't tried the turn cam feature, but I sounds related.

Thanks. I’ve done the rebooting/sleep cycle thing multiple times, but haven’t walked away for five minutes. Just done the 60sec thing described in the manual. I guess it can’t hurt to try your recommendation.

Thanks, I have used the hit the mute twice option to get the rear camera and that works fine (no freeze up) and when I go to turn it off the rear camera by hitting the mute button that works fine.. Manual suggests not trying to turn off the rear camera with the screen touch, but hit the mute button to switch back. Just for clarification, when the turn cam freezes up the screen/rear camera, the mute button doesn’t unfreeze it.

Edited because numbers and time are difficult for me

Skip to the 392 segment just in case you’re doing something different on the sleep cycles. Beyond that I’ll let more experienced and knowledgeable people reply

Same here; with the touch screen unresponsive even hitting mute doesn't work.

Nope. Done with that bullshit.
I have this Tazer problem with my 2021 7" Uconnect 4 radio settings.

The EQ and balance/fader would return to default settings every day.

After much trial and error, I tracked it down to the Tazer and specifically the "camera on with turn signal" setting.
Turn that off, radio settings don't default anymore.

I Found a forum/thread somewhere that verified what I was seeing and had members reaching out to ZAutomotive for a remedy.
After a few new firmware updates, still no solution.

I always update my Tazer when a new firmware is available, but I haven't tried the "camera on with turn signal" setting in over a year, so I don't know if they ever fixed it.

Thanks. Their last firmware update was May 2024.

I have the EXACT same setup, with the same issue. Nothing ever fixed it. (Currently, I'm at version 11.4.4, so I can't speak for the two newer firmware updates.) I just ended up disabling the "turn cam"...
