I'm curious what everyone is using for storage on camping trips. I've been using 2 clear storage bins but want to find something I can organize better so everything isn't just loose inside. Makes it a pain to load everything back in.

I was looking at this Front Runner.

Also liked the idea of this divided ammo crate although seems a bit small.

What are you all using for your camping gear?

I think your clear boxes are better than the Front Runner you linked. At least you can see what's in the box. Doesn't look like the Front Runner has dividers or anything that would make it better. Honestly, those clear boxes look like just the ticket for organizing things and knowing what is in which box. Good find.

Maybe I just need something to divide up the space in the clear containers. Smaller boxes inside of boxes.

i liked the Front Runner because it was wider than it was tall. I think it would make it easier to find things as opposed to digging around trying to get to the stuff underneath inside the plastic bins.

I’ve tried several different things but I’ve settled on the REI Pack Away Cubes. I have a couple of each size and they fit perfectly into my cargo tray in the back above my fridge. I bungee them down. https://www.rei.com/product/186175
Those are nice although I imagine they'd be covered in dirt the first time I used them. I'm a big fan of packing cubes though. I use them for my clothes inside my bag.

I also use the REI Pack Away Cubes. Love the available sizes, see-through top and nice zippers. Regarding being covered in dirt, they're made of sturdy materials that should hold up well over the years :fingerscrossed:

Ooh! I just built this shelf system:

To go with my lightweight chuck box that I built:

First in-use testing is this weekend.

But yeah, I was constantly unpacking and repacking my plastic "kitchen crate" and it was inefficient both for cooking and for loading up the jeep in the morning after breakfast. Everything only "tetrised" into the crate exactly one way and I always ended up restacking a couple times to get it right so I could close the lid.

RE-edited the post to remove the double pic and get the description text at the bottom.

That's my issue was well. That's why I was thinking something that is longer/wider than it is tall. Then nothing is stacked on top of each other.

For the camp kitchen, my solution is front-opening doors giving access to the shelves. This is how many folks build their "chuck boxes."

It's a little spendy, but here's a pre-built version.

What with lumber, hinges, legs, and whatnot, I probably have approaching 200 bucks in my box, before counting labor. Though I was building the box and the shelf system at the same time, so that total may be all the parts I needed for both of 'em.

I pack less than some do, but I really like the Yeti Loadout GoBoxes.
https://www.yeti.com/cargo/storage/gobox-30.html
They aren't cheap, but they're rugged, waterproof, and have dividers, lid pocket organizers for smaller items, etc. They also stack well.
I use a size 30 and 15. Fully loaded, the 30 is still easy to load and move around. Mine holds a stove with fuel, dry goods, utensils, personal hygiene stuff, and more.
The 15 is smaller and used primary for action cams, Ecoflow stuff, various USB cables, etc., but could be used for a lot of stuff.
They make a bigger size 60, but I don't have the need.

That's a really nice concept. that book is a little big for my needs but they also sell the instructions although it looks to require some tools I don't own.

There's one on their used gear for $200. Pretty tempting.....

I like the frontrunner stuff, they have different styles to look at and seem to go well on a roof rack if needed. I am going to be trying the Milwaukee pack out stuff like
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...-and-Interior-Storage-Tray-48-22-8422/3125892

And

There are many to choose from andm ost tool makers are making similar boxes with unique ideas. A lot of them have removable dividers.
Depending on how far you want to take it, the packout systems sells a platform that can be anchored in your cargo area to lock the cases down. American Adventure Labs is also selling something similar

I'm trying to fit everything I need into 1 box basically to make loadout/in faster. Those mounted systems are nice but I sleep in the Jeep so I can't have anything mounted inside. Need to be able to take everything out easily to set up the mattress.
