I'm trying to fit everything I need into 1 box basically to make loadout/in faster. Those mounted systems are nice but I sleep in the Jeep so I can't have anything mounted inside. Need to be able to take everything out easily to set up the mattress.
Watch this video if you have time. This guy sleeps in his jeep and has a cool setup for storage boxes, which I think are frontrunner

I pack less than some do, but I really like the Yeti Loadout GoBoxes.
https://www.yeti.com/cargo/storage/gobox-30.html
They aren't cheap, but they're rugged, waterproof, and have dividers, lid pocket organizers for smaller items, etc. They also stack well.
I use a size 30 and 15. Fully loaded, the 30 is still easy to load and move around. Mine holds a stove with fuel, dry goods, utensils, personal hygiene stuff, and more.
The 15 is smaller and used primary for action cams, Ecoflow stuff, various USB cables, etc., but could be used for a lot of stuff.
They make a bigger size 60, but I don't have the need.
Hey man, I’ve been looking at these. If you’ve got one, could you post a picture of how they fit inside the Jeep? Our cargo hold is so inefficiently shaped. I’m trying to visualize exactly what these would look like once inside.

That's a super nice setup. I'd argue that his setup is the opposite of minimalism though. I added it up and he has about $3600 worth of gear there. His fancy water system does what I can do if I tip over a bottle of water.

To me minimal would be a backpack and a sleeping bag. That being said his setup is awesome and I'm super envious of it.

Haha, I thought the same thing.

The frontrunner storage box table idea, while not original to him, is a pretty cool way to not only use those boxes to quickly move things in and out, but to get a table and keep them off the ground, out of the mud at the same time.

Was thinking that as well except then you can't access them if they are a table. I've been using this folding table:

I have a table that is easier to set up the legs BUT it doesn't fold in half so I bought this one to fit more easily in the Jeep.

I bought a couple collapsible plastic boxes (Amazon). I like them because they are square (unlike the common tapered nestable boxes), so use the volume efficiently. I also made a simple open shelf which straddles the wheel wells just back of the rear seat--I tie an easy-up and chairs atop it--and ice chest and boxes slide underneath.

This is the 15, the 30, in front of a Tundra 65 cooler. I still have floor space left for a 5 gal Scepter water can, an EcoFlow Delta Mini, and other small items as needed. That leaves room to stack a chair, etc.
On the cargo shelf, I load a bag for clothes, sleeping bag when cooler weather hits, a Alps Mountaineering table, and whatever else I want to shove under the bungee net.
Strapped to the cage are hammocks, bug nets, a trash bag.
The entire rear floorboard area is holds tools, recovery items to include a 20lb PowerTank, and more.
That leaves the roof rack for a tent, hammock stand, awning, fishing rod holder, and more.

Thanks! Super helpful.

I’ve got an AAL cargo shelf and I consider it a must-buy. Makes it so much easier to work out of the back of the Jeep when combined with a tailgate table.

If @SadRobot is sleeping inside the Jeep, I can see where a shelf would be a nuisance. That's why I mentioned the GoBox. Toss em outside while you sleep. They're tough, and waterproof - like submersible level waterproof. Plus, they have pass throughs on the corners like their coolers. This means you can lock them to your Jeep (rock rails, wheel spokes, whatver) using a python lock or something similar.

Holy cow! You weren't joking—that is the opposite of minimalism. He has an Unlimited fully loaded floor to ceiling including a cargo shelf; he has a refrigerator! I feel downright Spartan compared to him (tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, 7 gal water cube, cooler, box for dry food, tailgate table, and the same cookware I bring while backpacking).

I guess when he says 'minimalism' he's focusing on the fact he didn't opt for a AAL/Goose Gear (or similar) platform and bolt-down/slide-out everything?

The video probably should have been titled “Overlanding to the MAX” but I guess the word “minimalism” gets more clicks.

OR

all his friends are billionaires and he thinks he’s slummin’ it with that tap on/tap off hydration system

Boxes are great but duffle bags can be pretty handy as well. My old fishing buddies and I
I'm curious what everyone is using for storage on camping trips. I've been using 2 clear storage bins but want to find something I can organize better so everything isn't just loose inside. Makes it a pain to load everything back in.

I was looking at this Front Runner.

Also liked the idea of this divided ammo crate although seems a bit small.

What are you all using for your camping gear?
Boxes are great but duffle bags can be pretty handy if you plan on stopping a lot. My fishing buddies and I went on a week long 1,300 mile fishing, camping, exploring trip in Northern ID last month, two of us spent way too much time packing, unpacking and rearranging. There were 2 guys per Jeep (JLUR and a JKUR) both Jeeps were loaded to the gills with camping/fishing gear including our Fish Cat frameless boats which took up a good third of the space. We both also had receiver hitch carriers for coolers and food boxes.

I had everything in bags, one for clothes one for sleeping

gear and one for fishing gear. I was able to access whichever duffle I needed without too much trouble. My passenger however had his gear in boxes so almost every time we stopped he had to unload the half our s#!t to get to the boxes. It may have caused some tension as both the guys in the JK had their gear in bags and would beat us to the water at almost every stop.

Poor packing aside, we caught a bunch of fish, saw some amazing country and had a fantastic trip.

Good grief, who takes 7 gallons of water, I only take 5??

Yeah...all I read was "caught a lot of fish."
