Was driving home from work and got to the off ramp after about 30 miles of Interstate and could smell something burning. I am not sure what it is or were it is coming from but it is similar to burnt popcorn. Get home and pull the Jeep in the garage, get the mail and as I am walking past the Jeep I can smell it again.
I backed the Jeep out of the garage, lift the hood and start looking. Eventually I notice something on top of the exhaust manifold at the very back of the motor near the fire wall. It’s a hamburger bun!!! Puzzled and baffled how this got there. With no lock on the Jeep hood it is possible it was someone’s idea of a joke. The more I have thought about it I am wondering if a squirrel carried it up there?
Anyone else had a similar experience? I have since ordered a Mopar hood lock that can be keyed to the key fob key.
Edit: The photo is a little misleading, this is only about a 1/4 of a hamburger bun. From this vantage it appears to be an entire bun.
Edit: After this hamburger bun was found in my Jeep we had a several vehicles have squirrel nest build under the hood and wires chewed up. Cost one worker $600 to have his brand new F250 fixed. Set a live trap and removed three squirrels that now reside at a city park. Totally convinced it was a ?️.
