I know spring rates are/will be a big discussion point (especially as SEMA approaches and more and more offerings come out).

What all do we know so far about spring rates?

I'm looking for the softest springs I can get my hands on, but thought it'd be more valuable to start the log of spring rates collectively, rather than just ask for the softest springs (others might want something different than what I want).

So, if you have the ability to post up spring rates for your springs, please do so here - and be sure to be as specific as possible as to which springs you're measuring.

Bonus points if anyone has recommendations for the softest ride out there :)

We have posted it in a few other threads so here's a copy and paste from that, the first few lines refer to stock springs, then our springs:

“JLU Sport - 114/121 Front 171/174 Rear

JLU Rubicon - 123/128 Front 172/176 Rear

Mopar 2" Coils Lift - 131/133 Front 180/182 Rear

Our 2.5" Coil Spring Rates are as follows in the ride zone

137.5 Front at Ride Height

175 Rear at Ride Height

3.5" Coils are already coming in so we will give you those too

140 Front at Ride Height

185 Rear at Ride Height

The stock coils were dyno'd in house as well as at our spring supplier for confirmation of accuracy of rates."

Thanks for posting. Considering your spring rates are higher than stock(more so in front), is it accurate to assume the ride will be stiffer?

The softest ride you will find is going to be stock springs 99.9% of the time. Aftermarket springs are going to have a higher spring rate to lift the vehicle as well as support armor.

The 2.5 rock krawler is not too firm. with falcon shocks I would say it rides as smooth as stock. I know for all you experienced people say that’s not possible. Honestly I would sacrifice some of the plushness for firmer rear.

I do have a heavy winch on the front maybe that drops it a bit.

Metal cloak is also firmer from what I have read here.

Mine is a rubicon maybe if you lift a sport or Sahara the stiffness would be more noticeable.

Our spring rates up front are almost identical to that of the stock 2 Door JL. We felt the stock JLU springs up front were too soft and unpredictable. Especially with he sway bar disconnected off-road. When coming down ledges the springs would simply drop right to the bump stops. Our front rates when combined with well tuned shocks will ride excellent and is just enough of a spring rate increase to compensate for the greater unsprung weight of the larger wheels and tires that we expect to be run under a given lift height. In the rear we felt the spring rates were good and we could do a lot with our transition to a firmer rate rather than having to simply go stiffer in the ride rate. Hope that helps.

So are the Stock springs dual rate? What are the two numbers if not dual rate? And RC springs are triple rate no? Why only one number?

Factory springs are single rate, the 2 numbers are the min/max for how Jeep would set up the vehicle based on options.

RC=Rough Country, I wont speak to their products, they can cover that if they choose.

RK uses a triple rate coil, we provided the ride rate of the coil which is what you'll feel when driving on the road and thus create an apples to apples comparison of rates. Providing all 3 rates is possible but just knowing the rates without knowing the structure of the spring is useless data.

My apologies I meant RK :) Thanks for the break down. You all are awesome!

I have a 2 door JL Rubicon with Rock Krawler 2.5" springs with Fox IPF 2.0 shocks. I couldn’t agree more with the statement above. The ride is excellent: firm, controlled, yet smoother. Not harsh in any way. Very happy.

Does anyone know the spring rate of the Dynatrac 2" springs? Wondering how it compares to the Mopar 2" springs.

This is an old thread but was going to try to comment on here instead of starting a new one.

Does anyone have any info that compares spring rates of the major players? I see RK comments above. Those are from a year ago but I would assume that still stands. Any info on some of the other main vendors?

I have the Mopar 2" springs now. I may be in the market for stiffer springs due to possibly towing a small camper.

Thanks.
