Hi, new to the forum. Don't have a Jeep yet. I would not be off-roading, just camping, etc. I am wondering if there are "highway" softer springs and leafs. Any sources out there? Regards, Junior Mint

I think it depends on the model. I know Rubicon models supposedly have stiffer factory suspension. My 2019 with stock suspension is firm, but not bad imho. I’m also used to stiffer sports car suspension though. I recently purchased Rancho 5000x which are supposed to ride softer than the oem shocks, but I haven’t installed them yet.

Your Rancho 5000’s are not softer than OEM.
Thanks, I didn’t know that. I didn’t mean to misinform anyone. I could have sworn I read they were softer than stock Rubicon shocks. Either way, mine are on their way out as soon as I have the time to change over to the Rancho’s. My stock shocks are starting to rust pretty badly due to living in Michigan.

I don't know for sure, but I would think that a Sahara would have softer springs.

Side note: check out the spreadsheet in my sig before ordering.

Comfortable ride is suggestive. Everyone is different.

EVO plush ride springs.
I have had 2.5 / 3.5 and now have 4.5 EVO plush ride springs.
After trying many different manufactures including factory lifts and Metalcloak I found that the EVO work the best.
A good set of shocks will also improve your ride on and off road.
My first set of shocks I installed on my Willys was factory Gladiator used fox shocks. They will bolt right on the front and in the rear you need to add spacier to the upper shock mount and you will have a much better ride.
I ran the fox Gladiator shock for over a year on the Willys and still have them on the Rubicon.
Depending on your jeeps wight/wheels/tires/brake will determine the shocks you will need.
I first in stalled fox 2.0 when I was lighter and only on 35 tires and light wheels.
As my build got heaver with Teraflex delta brakes 37 tires and bead locks I went with Fox 2.0 bypass shocks put found they where not antiquate for my 6300 lbs jeep and now running Fox 2.5 Performance Elite Series shocks and 4.5 EVO plush ride springs and found that this set up is the sweet spot.
My Jeep Willys now rides better than my wife's stock Rubicon with 35 tires and the Gladiator shock.
I think in your case start with shocks and an inexpensive choice to try would be a lightly used set of Gladiator fox shocks. On average about $200 to $300 for a set.

It feels like a Jeep. If I were you, I'd look at a Grand Cherokee or similar.

Nothing wrong with not wanting a Wrangler. My husband is a Subaru man because he wants a softer ride.

The smoothest suspension I've ever rode in (jeep) was metalcloak game changer.
So much so, that I had to get the kit, twice.
Now I have adjustable shocks and keep them on the softest setting when om road.

If you're not looking to take it on rugged trails, the Grand Cherokee probably has a much better suspension for your needs. More cargo space, too.

21 JLU Sahara, daily driver, it passes with flying colors. Very light (nothing above a green trail, fire road, or beach), the suspension does very well. Get on a blue with a rating between 4 and 7, you are gonna get bounced around like a bb in a box car.
