i have rubicon take offs and 285 KO2s on my 19 JLUS 3.6. i’ve had this set up for years and i’m satisfied. this is my DD. i noted that the ride was stiffer than my stock sahara suspension which i expected however my wife doesn’t like it as much. could a softer ride be had with the original suspension and a small spacer? i really like the small amount of height the rubi takeoffs provide so maybe the stock sahara suspension and a spacer would be the best of both worlds? thanks for any info!

Probably gotta get softer shocks or something.
Or just take her vehicle when it's both of you.

I have tried several different springs including factory Rubicon and Metal cloak springs
What I have found is that EVO PLUSH RIDE SPRINGS worked the best and have the best ride
I started with EVO PLUSH RIDE SPRINGS 2.5 then 3.5 and now running 4.5. All have giving me a nice ride in combination with fox 2.0 shocks
If you are running the red Rubicon shock you will also get a much better ride by just replace the shocks with the fox 2.0s

What didn’t you like about the metal cloak springs? I’m gonna go over there this afternoon and get a set. I’m currently running rubicon express 3.5 in the front and 2.5 in the rear and I think they’re too soft. When I take off from a stop it feels like my front end lifts 4” and hits the bump stops quite a bit

The tires and their pressure will also make a pretty large difference in terms of ride quality. If she has street P-Metric squishers on that sahara and you have higher load range tires at a higher PSI, you're going to feel it.

What I discovered after installing there springs is that you lose a lot of the full length of the spring giving you a harsher ride. At least in my case
There spring are designed for max drop and the top of the springs are always fully compressed together on normal driving until your suspension drop past where a normal spring will become loose in it spring perch
For example
I am running 4.5 springs with 2.5 fox shocks with max extended is about 26.5 in.
If I was running longer shocks the spring would become loss in the spring perch at full drop
So if you are not going to be running shock like 28'' or longer there is not much benefit to running there springs for an on / off road jeep
There are other benefits with Metal cloaks and they are a great product put just did not work out for me

Jeep Wrangler JL softer ride??? metal

I probably should have mentioned that I have a JL diesel with sliders full skids and heavy bumpers with winch. I’ve probably added 1000 lbs plus to it. I don’t mind if the ride is a little stiff because these sister springs bottom out sometimes and if there’s a decent cross wind the body roll is insane

As stated above, tire pressure number 1. Run 30psi vs the recommended 37 and it's a much nicer ride. Better shocks would be next. If you want a really soft ride I'd go with metalcloak rocksports or rancho 9000s set to their softest setting. Higher caster helps over bumps too, throw on a set of the Mopar longer lower control arms to add a couple degrees of caster and you'd be surprised what those 3 easy/ cheap changes will do to transform the ride. No need to mess with springs as the rubicon ones are pretty soft.

I am running about 1000 to 1200 lbs over stock and just added 37s with bead locks 2'' bump stops and that's why I upgraded to the EVO 4.5.
With the 4.5 springs I now have my full suspension travel back and rarely bottom out
Also installed Fox 2.5 shocks. The fox 2.0 reservoir where not up to the job for the larger tire and wheels
