Curious, what is the story of the rear diff issue ?
Quick summary: AEV put in nonstandard gears (4.63s) due to COVID supply constraints, the rear diff failed, dealership screwed up royally and let me drive away without gear oil - replaced pretty much the whole rear end, they failed again, AEV replaced the gears, then they failed again.

They'll be putting in something more standard this time, most likely 4.56s.

Fun little New Year's thread.
I have Apex AutoLynx going in on the 13th.
If anything else happens it may be a winch or looking into a locker up front.

I'm quite pleased with things how they are up the this point.

Happy New Year!
That is pretty neat system. We came a long way from manual sway bar disconnect that rub the inner tire when you are at full turn and eventually puncture.

Near term, replace AMP retractable step with RSE step sliders, get grille wrapped and installed(no more angry jeep), possible for 2025, replace RC light bar and fogs with Baja Designs ones, wish list retractable hard tonneau and bed rack with spare tire mount

Hell yeah I’d be getting rid of that Bronco too if I were you 👍🏻

my 2025 plan is to drive more than 5k miles without destroying a 3rd, 4th, or 5th front driveshaft.
Still OEM? Or just bad luck?

Got the 3rd brake light ring to install on my wife's jeep, but otherwise likely to be a very quiet year for mods. Going to be keeping an eye out for rubi axles for mine though. I did so many mods year 1 that I'm pretty happy with my build aside from getting new axles which would lead to bigger tires and likely a bigger lift. On the wife's jeep just hoping to complete the no loan mod.

No real mods but We might try Sand Hallow instead of Moab but still probably hit Moab again as usually try and hit it 2X a year and never get tired of it. Probably time to do the Rubicon trail again as well. Also kind of want to do something like Death valley for something different. Looking forward to a great year.

I always dream to have dana 60 with locker and all the nice stuff. Not doing that much off road anymore and I'm pretty sure this is covered in the modify your vehicule law.

Somehow the back end of the rear diff keeps failing. That is, it makes a grinding noise when decelerating. It happens every six months or so. Putting on diff skids didn't mitigate the issue.

Hopefully they'll resolve it this time.

I am just about where I need and want to be mod-wise, BUT you know how that goes :)
You see something different/new, you need/want, and voilĂ , another mod is planned!

Thanks to @Diode Dynamics, & @John C, I have a set of rock lights to install once it gets a bit warmer here. I will be doing mine a bit different than the intended purpose I suspect.

We usually do 2-4 trips a year but typically do not night-wheel.

I intend to mount these more like ditch and reverse lights than under-the-JP-lights.

I have some ideas but don't know if they will work until I see the lights and try to position them where they will offer me the most bang for the "1000 lumen peak output" buck.

Has anyone else done this? PICS if you don't mind.
